ESPN reporting five minutes ago he declared for the draft but has maintained his eligibility.

There was a thread on April 1st with a tweet from "Barstool Northwestern" that he was granted a medical exemption for another year, but everybody just assumed it was an April Fools joke because of the day it was posted.

Chatter has been there for a long time that he would pursue another year given he played less than 100 minutes in his first year (11 games). Luke Goode seeking another year for Indiana, who had a year of ten games and more than 100 minutes.

Sadly the number of games played will matter more than the minutes -- but if by some miracle he can come back, look out.

According to Twitter geniuses not only does he have an extra year but he’s also transferring to Purdue. Like I said - Twitter geniuses.

Of course, if Barnhizer is granted another year and just ends up transferring to Purdue or Indiana, I'd really rather it didn't happen at all.

Now we just have to parse out what "Never wearing another college jersey" could also mean... as in, "never wear it again"? (Most likely, but we can dream can't we?)

Not much to parse -- simply means when he returns it's only to NU!

You have to admire the commitment to the bit. There's even an extensive conversation about where Barnhizer would (or in some cases would not) fit in on the Purdue roster on the Purdue Rivals forum. Either they were unwitting victims of this rumor as well or some people over there were really convincing.

Yeah, I look at this as just Friday fun time with Brooks Barnhizer (and his social media team).

Nothing is up whatsoever except maybe Brooks throwing cold water on the extremely dumb idea that he’d consider transferring in the fictitious scenerio he had the chance to do so
BB playing for someone other than the Cats is far more implausible than him coming back. Which in and of itself is implausible.
