Problem is at least one of the guys who Kong is talking about wouldn't even admit that. It's one thing to say it was the case and u understand that in order to get Dylan you had to take Dayton. But this particular poster doubled down on the "Dayton is a legit offer" and there was no nepotism lol. His name rhymes with...lol

Holla
I think he was a legit offer. He was the starting QB at Buford playing against better competition than Thomalua did in Nebraska. What’s ironic was the love affair Kong had for Haarberg. Compare Haarberg’s high school career to Dayton Rsiola’s and consider the level of competition they each faced. It isn’t close. That said, man I love Haarberg. I think he was put in a horrible situation. Stud athlete. I think he could have won as many games as Dylan but it would have looked a bunch different in how he did it.

My memory tells me Pringle was one, if not, the largest Dayton shill.
Wrong. As with most high school QBs, I thought it was a crap shoot. You just don’t know what they’ll do against P4 competition. The history books are littered with 4 and 5 star QB busts. I wasn’t critical of taking. He was one guy and we need preferably 4 scholarship QBs on the roster. Given the transient nature of P4 QBs I’m not going to worry about one reach at QB. Gotta have bodies.

It is crazy to think that Rhule was hired because he was seen as the "safe" hire.

A nice guy, good speaker, and can probably get NU to lame 7 win seasons.

I would love to know, if there was anyone else that trev even considered.

The #1 thing that Cignetti looks for in a football player is hip flexibility, Haarberg doesn't have, and is therefore not a stud athlete in terms of football, which is why he got killed running the ball. He also couldn't throw anything other than an in-route or post laser. There wasn't a position on the field for him because he couldn't move laterally...maybe...if he put on 40 pounds he could be a fullback?

I agree with this. Sad state for Dayton, really - living in the shadow like that. He will be a practice dummy and hopefully get a degree out of the deal.
Except everyone before for was tickled pink he was all N lol. Wow how times change.

Very legit point.

However it doesn’t account for NIL $$(which could be a + or - either way), or the worst OL coach in D1 factor.

Where did all the Donovan Raiola apologists go anyways?

Where is he coaching next year?
I thought he did some good in 24 but last year was just not good, I wouldn’t say I was an apologist. Glad he’s gone especially when you hear the players complaining and all the drills they did on pass pro when geep got here. Another former Wisconsin player that was a miserable failure at being a coach
