I looked at my buddy at the 4 min mark last night and said "I don't have a good feeling about this". It sickens me that this team finds ways to blow leads. I feel bad for the kids. The coaches, that's another story, and I will wait until after the season. As always I saw JP at the the game and would love to hear how he really feels. His top mens sports were/are terrible this year. Thank the lord for the women's team as they are fun to watch. He needs to be aggressive as we see what happened to football when he let Fitz drag the OC fiasco on for years. You reap what you sow.

Well, he sowed a long term deal for Collins after the miracle season. Probably wishes he had a do-over on that decision. But highly unlikely he sacks him with 4 years left on the contract. Will give him at least the next 2 seasons as the team gets restocked and experienced. If NU isn't competitive at the end of year 9 on the Collins watch then Phillips will act (if he's still at nu......).

How about 13 years?

Seems like next year will tell us a lot about the direction of the program. Collins will have a bunch of his key recruits who will be in their 2-3rd years with him and will also have an idea of what the 2021 recruiting class will be.

Did CC have to build a program from the wreckage that O'Neill had left and did CC have to recruit w/ the everyday BB facilities being a complete joke?

Say what you will about BC, but he left the program in significantly better shape than what O'Neill had done.

Furthermore, for the last few years, BC was doing his job w/ one-hand tied behind his back w/ all the speculation of whether it would be his last year on the job (not to mention being a lame-duck coach, working w/o an extension).

Look at how USC's recruiting class (in FB) turned out w/ all the speculation about Helton's job security.

Like I had stated before, if Phillips wasn't going to support BC and wanted his own man for the job, he should have fired BC 2-3 seasons earlier.

I think JP has destroyed the football program

Two to three seasons earlier he was taking us to NIT. Before the NIT run or when he did it were the appropriate times

We just need more depth! We are losing our legs, every time, in the fourth quarter!

Yeah, Phillips either had to do it immediately when he was hired in 2008, but considering there would've been zero track record of success, he wouldn't have been able to hire anyone. Once they started making the NIT he couldn't do anything until they stopped, in 2013, when he acted.
