Was Kerry Kittles recruited by Kentucky?

I've always wondered. I know he was a Louisiana native and he was one of my favorite college players of all time. His game would have been perfect for Pitino's full-court pressure.

Did UK ever go after him back in the early 90s?

I don't know but I know Cal drafted him instead of Kobe Bryant. So he was high on him too.

He was a great player in his own right. A great pro too he just happened to be taken before one of the 10 best players ever.
Kittles at UK in the mid-90s would have been a blast. Put him alongside Delk and Walker and you might win two titles in '95 and '96.

I'm almost certain UK didn't recruit him hard if any at all.
Ray Allen, Keith Booth, and Charles O'bannon were three wing players Pitino went after hard but failed to sign in the mid 90's

The 13-15 picks in that draft were insane:

13. Kobe Bryant
14. Peja Stojakovic
15. Steve Nash

And then Jermaine O'Neal was taken with the 17th pick. 35 all star selections among those 4 guys. Tony Delk slid in there at #16.

Just for facts sake, Calipari drafted Kittles not because he was so high on him, but because Kobe and his agent bullied the Nets front office and Calipari didn’t wanna take the risk of Kobe bouncing in 3 years.

Pitino soft-played Ray Allen. At the time, it made sense as UK had just taken a commitment from Jeff Sheppard and Allen was only ranked in the mid-30s.

I never understood the O'Bannon recruitment. It was clear Charles was wanting to play with Ed at UCLA. Yet, Pitino thought he had a legit shot.

Should have went all-in on Ray Allen.
