And find out that Tre is having a baby! Was this common knowledge?
Does it matter? We had at least one other player have a child while on the team and it was not common knowledge, and the fact that this one is couldn't mean anything more or less to me. Good luck to him and all of that, but as a data man, I don't like to involve the players' (or coaches') personal lives in analysis.

Think you are overeacting a bit here. Point to the "analysis" which I was making here. And it was on the Journey....don't believe it was his intention to keep it private....

Tre's wife sits in the family section, and at this point it is very obvious that she is having a baby.

It might matter. As someone whose wife is having a baby shortly, going through pregnancy can be extremely stressful at times depending on if there are any complications or not. I don't think it's unreasonable to believe that it could be affecting his play.

This may be anecdotal but when my wife was pregnant I actually played better in my YMCA over 30 league

A couple of days before my wife had our son, I created a bad turnover. Not in basketball, as my playing days were over, but rather grillside. A very large and fabulous piece of beef steak, almost done, slipped from my steak-flipping tongs and landed in the sandy soil beside the patio. So, if Tre is having trouble finding the handle on the rock, he has my empathetic support.

A person observing my beefsteak fumble wanted to blame the incident on excessive consumption of brandy manhattans, but I reject that notion. I was no more inebriated than usual at the time of day; well, maybe a little more as pregnancies are stressful. To this day I maintain it was all Ms. Palindrome’s fault because she was well past her due date and the heightened anxiety associated with a several days long “pre-birthing overtime period” was obviously the root cause of my poor dexterity.

I don't believe that anybody wants it to be open season on his/her family on this board, though.

Boy, you make it open season when you post about anybody's family on a public message board.

It was on a TV show! On the BIG 10 Network! And alas, I wasn't the only person who started a thread about it. To top it off, I said zero negative things about Tre, zip.

Thought you were going to change your tune this time around on the boards, but looks like you can't keep elements of same old Purp from creeping back in; a shame since you have proven that you can make valuable contributions here until your hypersensitivty and combativeness gets in the way, imo.

But you're not going to drag me into your negativity this time around, since I have learned my lesson; DocCatsFan and his ilk are gone, and the Basketball board is finally recovering. Even Virginia has largely blended in nicely with the new dynamic here. Hope you do the same.

I see. So you're allowed to post about players' kids and you're also allowed to tell me what to post. Insufferable.
