There's been a lot made of the "failure" of the OAD plans at Duke and Kentucky because of the lack of national titles. K has had 4 teams with multiple OADs that have resulted in 1 national title, 2 ACC titles, 3 Elite Eights, 2 1 seeds, and 2 2 seeds.
I would argue Duke was more dominant in the period from 98-06 than the OAD era, but that also resulted in "only" 1 title so was it also a failure?
I think it's more likely that no program wouldn't trade their last 5 years for ours (maybe Nova) and people just forget how hard it is to win a single elimination basketball tournament.
