Watched Caitlin Clark for the first time.

I have to eat crow. It's been a long time since I honestly really watched women's basketball, and I've poo pooed that sport a lot. But I watched that game and I was actually surprised and impressed. It was actually a refreshing form of basketball, and was actually pretty good. Now I'm even interested to see this Juju frosh at USC.

I was wrong. Hopefully our women can get it going now.

Just glad Mulkey and Reese ate the L. Man are they unlikeable.

USC vs UConn should be a good one too. I don't typically watch lady's ball but the last half of the NCAAT is usually pretty fun.

I only got to watch the second half and watching LSU on offense was painful. Iowa impressively didn’t guard the perimeter or the rim yet still continuously stopped them.

LSU missed 54 shots. 1.35 missed shots per minute. Against a sagging defense that they kept towering over for offensive rebounds to miss again from 2 feet. Ugly performance(while I watched)

Actually, they stopped play to review something that went (I think the term was) unobserved?
There was no foul called, but the can review and call an intentional foul but not a common foul.
Geez.

Even at the highest level was still a tough to watch display of basketball.

refs are atrocious. They could call three fouls every possession on both teams. Instead barely called any. So many missed shots bounced in the paint before being grabbed. Lots of bunnies missed.

With that said, was a fun watch and it beat the hell out of the wnba. That is truly awful to watch.

LSU more talented team overall just goes to show how great of a player CC is. She doesn’t have much help on that team but they play extremely hard. They’re easy to root for.

LSU fouls a ton and gets away with a ton.

CC adds a floater to her game (she passed up at least 3 opportunities) for it, she will be even more unguardable than she is now.

The ex UL girl trying to defend Clark was a terrible call by LSU coach. She was getting absolutely cooked.

I’ve never really been a fan of the women’s game, but I’m coming around.

Hailey Van Lith must regret leaving Louisville for LSU.

Then again I’m sure the NIL was nice but I know she is catching a lot of blame for tonight and most of the season .

I agree which made me happy that Caitlin sent both of them packing. And, I didn't see the b.s. that Reese did to Caitlin last season with the hand gestures and similar in return.

Sure it is, that’s all we had to do to stop Gohlke. She should have changed up the defense like we should have changed up the defense.

Why put the small white girl on Clark? LSU had 24 and 4 both longer and good athletes yet choose Van Lith….

LSU was typically not on the ball screen for Clark and gave up looks…every screen you push Clark to drive it and not shoot a three

Clark is a hard cover for sure but she got up a fair amount of open looks which is lsu defense was not amazing

Clark is good but I tried to watch the game and it’s just not my thing. It reminds me of boys high school basketball, which I like, idk what my problem is.

The post game interview with Fleu'Jae and the predictable comments on FB are both sad and hilarious .. she butchers word after word after word .

For all the hype about her shooting/scoring ability--she's a helluva passer.

the thing I came away with watching both women's games last night: They don't call fouls for much of anything. They let them play. It's incredibly physical. Bodies are flying, shots are affected. Play on.

The sheer amount of calls our SEC refs would have blown last night would have been mind blowing. My mind stayed in a constant state of confusion when a play happened and I am so used to hearing a whistle and nothing. It's like we are monkeys and they trained us on bad officiating.

So glad she avenged that game from last year, LSU players are thugs.

If you have much doubt watch the post game interviews with F”Jae and Reese — Reese actually complains about being “ sexualized “ while her social media is filled with sexy material ( so I’ve been told ) . They both just play the victim card so damn hard . It’s sad .

I know the answer is probably "no". But serious question, could C.Clark (or other women's player) play (& contribute) at the college level, even if just D-II or NAIA?
Before you laugh too much, consider that Goehke guy (wasn't a kid) from Oakland, who hadn't played D-I ball until this year and put up 30 on UK. He was NOT scoring because of quickness, or height, or strength, or jumping ability, or any type of athleticism, he scored strictly because he could shoot and he didn't stop moving to get open. And he wasn't much of a defender either. No she couldn't guard almost any male guard, but neither could Goehke. How would Clark be different than Goehke? I think both could get 21 one game, and 0 the next two games.

BTW, 30+ years ago I played in a pickup game vs a women's all-american player that I knew. But I wasn't very good (I actually was better in my 30's and early 40's than in college).
