Basch mentioned that there was/is a rumor that Sealey may transferCan Sealey beat PJ Duke? I have my doubts.
Everybody who isn't starting is rumored to be transferring at some point or another. It's practically a rite of passage. Believe them at your own risk.Basch mentioned that there was/is a rumor that Sealey may transfer
I’m not a doctor, but if he wrestled after sitting out 2 matches, I don’t see that he’d need a year to recover. If he wrestled, he’s recovered. No trainer is putting an athlete back in a contest if they aren’t recovered.to completely heal from the Concussions he received
If someone transfers because of a log jam at a weight then odds are PSU has the better of the 2 and good luck as long as not against us. It's a good problem to have and iron sharpens iron. For instance, we all respect barraclough and appreciate when he was with PSU (probably should have quoted psu proud as more of a response to that post, but just following the thoughts)Everybody who isn't starting is rumored to be transferring at some point or another. You do realize that you just accused Cael and Dan Monthley of putting Kasak at risk, making/allowing him to compete in a combat sport with a brain injury that will require a full calendar year to heal.to completely heal from the Concussions he received
Just my thoughts on a potential transfer HWT - I think the whole thought process might not be about Mirasola's ability, it just looked like he may need another year to put on the weight needed to compete against the top HWTs, and I don't know if he can do that in one offseason, so it may be a case of someone short-term, or maybe there's someone out there off-the-radar they know from recruiting (like Mesenbrink) .. and I'm sure if Penn State approached a wrestler about coming into the program, they'd at least listen, but that will all play itself out.Who would that be? Please name the high-end HWTs next year that would be an upgrade AND might transfer.
Don't even bother saying Ferrari, never coming to PSU. (And he's not the preseason favorite if he does move up, that's Bastida or Trumble.)
Besides Facundo, the only other wrestler who was in the mix for a weight on this current squad I expected/expect to transfer after the season was Cochran - he has too much talent and looks to be the 4th man behind Barr/Ryder/Mirasola in the 184/197 group, going into next year. If Ono does join the squad, I could possibly see Nagao hitting the portal, as well (depending on a plan with redshirting Braeden). If someone transfers because of a log jam at a weight then odds are PSU has the better of the 2 and good luck as long as not against us. Like Sealy or Mitchell moving up from 165Can Ryder go 174 when Haines leaves? Then you have Ryder, Barr, Mirisola (those 2 can flip-flop).
I could see Trephan being interested. Not sure if he's elite or even better than Cole. I think a lot of people are forgetting that Cole is a true freshman. He's going to be bigger next year and that alone will help him get better. How much better is to be seen, but I would imagine good enough to make the postseason and possibly AA.Who would that be? penOno is 100% wrestling for us next season. He is enrolled. I had that confirmed from someone in Philly, who knew firsthand, all the inner workings of how the entire Ono thing went down. So pencil him in at 133.

Yeah, I don’t see Blaze RSingDavis will redshirt and Ono will be at 133. Blaze will come in at 141.
Are we still free to communicate here? My degree at PSU was in Biology. I clearly remember being on the mat in HS after my head was slammed into the mat and sitting there looking at colored stars and characters from my favorite cartoons. Not a big deal for me. Lasted 10 minutes or so. It did end that match. You do realize that you just accused Cael and Dan Monthley of putting Kasak at risk, making/allowing him to compete in a combat sport with a brain injury that will require a full calendar year to heal.
Probably not what you intended, but that's the effect.
Might want to re-think that one.
No specific lineup details from Willie, but look at his far-too-early crystal ball of the 2026 team race (which is based on the lineup):
It'd be awesome if Lehigh could grab a second place finish.Looks like an exciting year for 2nd place.

Lehigh returns 38.0 points -- including Crookham, Stanich, Brignola, and Taylor returning to the lineup. I think they'll be better than 38 pts, but 2nd seems out of reach. It'd be awesome if Lehigh could grab a second place finish.
Only freestyle that I know of. There’s going to be a wrestle off.I thought about Ono, but does he have any folk style/mat wrestling experience? If not, he may struggle mightily on bottom.
What’s Cole’s weight these days? We really need someone on the upper bounds of heavyweight to deal with the likes of future Hendricksons and Stevensons of the world.125 Lilledahl
133 Ono
141 Blaze
149 Van Ness
157 Kasak
165 Mesenbrink
174 Haines
184 Ryder
197 Barr
Hwt Cole Mirasola
That would be my guess. Hopefully they can keep guys like Davis, Sealy and Connor around another year even if they aren’t starting.
I wouldn’t mind a portal HWT but who knows if there will be one that’s a fit and that much better than Cole to make it worthwhile.
Last I saw someone post a weigh in number from him I believe it was right around 220. I’m not sure he has the frame to be 260+. Id guess he’s a guy that will top out in the 240’s.What’s Cole’s weight these days? Snyder never was big. Kueter just AA and wasn't big.Last I saw someone post a weigh in number from him I believe it was right around 220. I’m not sure he has the frame to be 260+. Id guess he’s a guy that will top out in the 240’s.
It seems that everybody has left Henckel out of the equation.Like Sealy or Mitchell moving up from 165
Sealy has too much talent not to be on the mat.
For as big as Kerk is, he only weighed in over 250 four times in the last two seasons. The first three matches on 23-24 & the first match after winter break this year. Weight doesn't always mean strength.Last I saw someone post a weigh in number from him I believe it was right around 220. I’m not sure he has the frame to be 260+. I'm not saying it's realistic Lehigh will finish second, just that it'd be awesome to see them finish ahead of everyone else except PSU. Iowa fans' heads would implode.Lehigh returns 38.0 points -- including Crookham, Stanich, Brignola, and Taylor returning to the lineup. I think they'll be better than 38 pts, but 2nd seems out of reach.
