In that email Walden asks Crowder to place a player in a class to improve his reading and writing skills. She responds by placing him in an AFAM class that does no reading or writing. Walden has already admitted to knowing that the AFAM classes were set up as independent studies. Why would he allow Crowder to place a player in a class that he knew required no reading or writing after telling her that's what he needed help with?

1. Fball and bball players made up less than 1% of the student body and fully 50% of the AFAM students were fball and bball players. This was an accident. No one steered the players to AFAM classes.
2. No one on the basketball coaching staff knew AFAM classes were irregular.
So what? UNC knowingly offered bogus classes to student athletes. I don't care what the coaches knew or should have known. The athletes were ineligible, period. However, expecting me to believe that the coaching staffs knew and should have known nothing is laughable. I'm not that stupid.

The emails he sent before this thing blew wide open are absolute, irrefutable evidence that directly implicate him (a member of the basketball staff). Strict Liability, remember that?

Another thing ... what the hell does "secret knowledge" mean? That to me, just makes it sound like everyone knew about the sham, which makes this even more egregious. I really need the idiot on IC who published that article to let us know the contextual meaning of that phrase.
It's pathetic in life to watch a person get busted for something and yet they continue on with their lies despite proof contradicting what they say . UNC is that person , they're in too deep at this point and to them it's worse to come clean than to cling onto the lies . Even if they got full on crushed by every sanctioning body possible , they would still continue to lie because they think it only counts if you admit it .

This article also wants to point out that Holladay was the liason between Wayne and his buddy Roy, so here we have another layer to peel back and not implicate the head coach. Yet, who gets paid for the academic success of the basketball athletes when they meet GPA standards?

It sounds like the basketball staff is glossing over the obvious and Brown is not even addressing the academic scandal. BTW, Brown states his decision is not just based on playing basketball in college...............okay.......

It is called plausible deniability. He states he had no "secret" knowledge, so in his mind he was making a correct statement; however, he is thinking to himself that is correct because the knowledge was not a secret - basically using the vernacular to clear himself. Cannot believe this is still going on. Would love for a D1 school to publicly ask the NCAA if it is ok to set up classes for students so they can stay eligible and have staff members grade the papers for classes they don't have to attend?
