In an outrageous decision even by B1G Conference standards, the NU Women's BB away games against UCLA and USC have been ruled as NORTHWESTERN forfeits. I can't possibly understand how this is a fair decision, even when taking into account their current W/L records. They should be ruled as no contests, akin to when a conference baseball or softball game is canceled.

Some of the comments say that Penn State made the trip and USC and UCLA made arrangements for them to play the games at Long Beach (presumably away from the wildfires).

Were these same accommadations offered to NU but were turned down? If so, it might be the right decision.

UCLA offered to move game to Long Beach and USC area wasn't affected by the fires. It sucks by I have to agree with decision to declare forfeits. Bad look for NU by canceling.

You guys are missing the bigger point. The real issue is how do we blame Derrick Gragg for this?

Meh, give what was going on at the time and, at least, in the media surrounding the fires, I'm perfectly ok with NU choosing to not send the team that way. Bummer about the forfeits and the playing experience would have been good for the team. I am curious about how much effort was, or wasn't, put into rescheduling the games. It's super safe to assume that if the shoes were on the other feet, the B1G would have forced the games be played, but life goes on.

I'll be sad to say goodbye to Daley, Walsh, and the other seniors on Sunday.

You forgot one other person that you’ll be saying goodbye to.
