No show thus far. Looks really sluggish too. Is he sick?

not sure whats going on - he's seems a step behind on defense - but he is stretching out pretty far from the rim

He has not really played well lately. He hit a slump this time last year. But he can do a lot that goes unnoticed.

Mizz post players have been in foul trouble so they are spreading out. As good as WCS is defending all the spots.. Playing a guard centric team is no easy task for a 7 footer

Might make hard on. D but he should be using the height advantage to abuse them on the other end . But it's not happening .

It's no doubt his worst game of the year. He's played too much perimeter defense IMO. I know that's by design, but it takes him too far from the defensive goal.

He is no offensive threat. so if he isn't rebounding, blocking shots and disrupting their offense then may as well sit him down.

How many teams could withstand a national player of the year candidate being a "no-show" and still be in control of a game?

remember when Cal said WCS was hitting his free throws and he wanted him to drive to the rim?

early in the game, he did just that - and then missed both free throws.

I doubt that has anything to do with his game but its unfortunate timing

Weren't there threads exactly last this last yr. Stop looking to far into anything and look at the positive..if he's not playing well we can still win games.

He's been terrible 3 games in a row. He went thru this same crap last year and the year before after Christmas. Pisses me off because he acts JUST like those kids in t-ball that chase butterflies in the outfield instead of watching for the ball. WCS is just floating around out there. For him to be his size and that athletic and have no points and one rebound and no blocks against UM with the game nearly over is flat out pathetic.

you hit the nail on the head........if UK is to reach the ultimate goal, EVERYONE has to play to their potential
Booker & Towns also played horrible
just hard to watch them go through the motions

WCS has gone to the basket on numerous occasions tonight for easy lobs and or pass from guards and was not seen or refused to be passed to.
Anyone else see this?

Don't know if this applies, but doesn't Willie have Sickle Cell Trait and has times when his energy is low? That could explain a lot. If it is, we need to cut him a little slack.

As I posted in another thread, I think Willie is get frustrated and a bit disinterested because we almost never run any offensive sets for him. The lobs have disappeared and we never get him the ball on the block. He was playing well offensively before SEC play. We just don't do anything to keep him engaged.

how many times did he try to dribble in a crowd.........only to create a turnover.............he missed a couple of put backs & 4 free throws............with his ability..........he should clean up on the boards......especially offensively..........that would create scoring opportunities............but his lack of aggression created nothing but blanks on the score card

We don't need him dribbling the ball. We need him on the low block and we need to feed him the ball there from time to time. We never do it. We di it with Towns and Johnson, but never with Willie. At least not in a month or more.
