We have upgraded almost every position. Did you watch this team when they came back down 20 to down 4? (Actually, most of you probably had turned it off by that point)

We shot better from 2 and 3 and had more rebounds on an away, hostile court. We just had too many turnovers.

Also, you people yelling and Jasper Johnson - it's his 3rd game and 1st away game. Are you serious? Did you forget all of last year?

Unless ARK and BAMA shoot very poorly, I agree with you, we do not match up well against their quickness and defensive intensity. BAMA is our first SEC game. We have Mich State, NC and Indiana to get ready for the Tide. We simply HAVE to find our identity and best rotations !! I think slower, more deliberate, play may be our answer. Not sure, though.

I do not see the negativity by posters who like to discuss what we've seen. To my view, we are clearly going to be a good team, but I am not convinced yet that we are a better team than last year ... certainly not a "way better" one. That is not bashing ... that is uncertainty.

We are absolutely not better than a 100% healthy 24- 25 roster.
Take away Butler, Robinson and Carr's injuries and I would take last year's team head to head in a heartbeat.

Even though it is not 22M, we would probably one of the highest spenders, and spend a lot more than Louisville, and we do not have a legitimate star (Oweh is not that GUY)

If we win, I am happy. If we lose, it is normal to make concerns. especially the game was way more ugly than a just 8 pts loss...

Here’s the thing… The UL game IS the barometer for most UK teams, because if they can’t get up for that game, both team’s “Super Bowl”, then they are not very likely to in other similar or lesser environments.

Same defensive problems last night as last season & these guys are better so that’s not a promising sign going forward.
BG, OO, & MD cannot play extended minutes together cause none can shoot and clog up the lane for Lowe & Aberdeen. This team has to play downhill and get to the paint for success then kick it to open shooters like Colin and Kam. But until we learn some defensive strategies, gonna struggle to guard decent perimeter players.

That's how they play it. Bandwagon and make it as safe as possible for themselves. That way they are always right. It's sad to watch grown a$$ adults act this way, but such is life.

We certainly have more talent than the '24 team. We just are not yet playing as well as a complete unit as that squad...yet. The chemistry developed quickly last year and we went farther than our talent as a result. If this team starts jelling (and gets JQ to take minutes away from BG) we will be fine as the talent is there. Just need leaders to lead!

Losing to U6 and a coach that had to beg students to attend games last season hurts. However, best to lose a marquee non-conference road matchup in November than in March!

Me, I'm sticking with this team!

You’re right, this is a better team than last year. Still think we are a top 10 team and will have a good season.

But I will say early on I think we have the same type of problems we did last year and soon you will be able to label them as a trend with Pope if we see them continue. That is bad Defense and his teams don’t have “stars”. Have really good players but 2 years in and I’m not seeing a star.

I was happy when they came back. But it don’t take away what I seen. We came back because Louisville started playing pretty bad their self. They actually didn’t even impress me. We just looked bad.

The U of L game is usually just before Christmas so you can't really say it's barometer when it's the third game of the season this year

I think it’s very obvious we are better than last year. No way I’m letting the final score deny what honest evaluation tells me. Anyone jumping off the bandwagon is nuts, but Pope has some work to do.

IMO, we will probably struggle against quick teams at first. Guys seem to still be getting things figured out on the defensive end and I think our guys are thinking rather than reacting. That slows us down. We have the athleticism to defend quick teams, but there's a mental hurdle we have to surmount.

I'm not concerned at all. I'm disappointed, frustrated, and maybe a little annoyed that card fans can hold that win over us, but we will be fine this year and I still think we're a final four caliber team when it's all said and done.

Maybe potential to be better on defense, but I am not seeing it yet. We aren't close to last years team offensively when healthy. That team could put up monster numbers on offense. This team isn't like that. Last year also had better leaders, communication, ball handling, discipline and so far desire.

Second half defense was pretty good yesterday. Louisville has the makings to be one of the very best offenses in the country.

If 24-25 is healthy that means 25-26 has to be healthy. If you put JQ on the floor and give this team a full season to improve, by March I think this team blows the doors off last years team. Defensively this years team will be light years better
