If 24-25 is healthy that means 25-26 has to be healthy. If you put JQ on the floor and give this team a full season to improve, by March I think this team blows the doors off last years team. Defensively this years team will be light years better

Slightly better defense and a huge downgrade in offense that’s what we got this yr . Denzel Aberdeen looks to be our best shooter Lowe can’t hit 3’s chandler is a catch and shoot shooter but not reliable enough. Jasper doesn’t play enough and inconsistent. Moreno and mo are our best defenders. Oweh taken a huge step back was supposed to build the team around him. Team was supposed to be a defensive team but not much has dramatically changed giving up 96 pts is not good defense leaving guys wide open for 3 is not good defense. Slightly better defense and a huge decline in offense. Will see how the next 5 games play out by that time will see who they really are

Why? Because he might just be right, the jury is still put on Pope.....our three biggest games the past two seasons and he's lost 2 out of 3. He lost to Cal in Rupp and not to L'ville in the pizza pit. Not a great start...
Judging Pope because he couldn’t beat UT a third time in year one with a lineup he threw together over the summer is something an unreasonable, 3rd grade mindset fan does..

We should be.

I mean...........the first year Pope had to basically assemble a roster in such a small period of time and frankly he did an outstanding job doing so IMO.

This year based on the talent we brought in, we should be better. And I think we will be. I think it'll bear out over the course of the season.

That being said, I'm not really all that ready to say that we are actually "much better" than last season. Last season, we had a top 10 offense. We shot the ball extremely well and we didn't turn it over much. Early on but seems like turnovers might be a problem. And if we are giving the opponent extra possessions based on those furnovers, well then you had better be making that up somewhere else (maybe offensive rebounding will improve from last season).

The defense....well again we should be better. But I do think a huge piece of that improvement is currently sitting on the bench and won't be available until mid season at best.

If the gains on defense just make up for the losses on offense, the net result is the same.

Put both teams on the court against each other and this team beats the hell pit of last year.

Last year’s team would never get a rebound against these guys.

We scored 80+ against UL’s defense. What would we score against last year, 120?

To be fair, at the end of both halves we also ended up jacking up more 3s that happened to connect. It's not like we were just blowing by and dominating them. The game never felt in question after they got their first decent lead.
Maybe I overstated it. When did we actually start forcing a few turnovers and get some runouts and transition baskets? Seems like there was some of that later in each half, which suggests to me some fatigue for UofL.
