Is the irony that the ####iest song ever made (at least by people that did have other good music) is being used in a Charmin commercial? Genius marketing.

Every time I hear that song I just keep thinking “she did Woodstock!” It’s mind boggling.

The worst part is that Starship/Airplane have a bunch of really good songs... how this turd ever saw the light of day is a travesty.

I attended the Monterey Pop festival and JS was great. If "we Built this city" was played then, they would have been booed off the stage. This was voted the worst song in rock history. It sucked.

The lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin, who has gotten away with an occasional throw away lyric like "horny back toads' but the song gods decided to punish him and Starship by creating a monster hit but so bad no one will ever forget it.
He tried claiming once it was a very dark song about LA, not SF, and how corporatism had killed the live rock scene and blamed the producer but in that same article that The Motels were offered the song and said no way when they heard the demo

Speaking of terrible songs and Woodstock, if I never hear Joe Cocker singing With a Little Help From My Friends ever again, I will die a much happier man. Why are they still playing that 60 years later???
You've got to cut JC some slack. He was having an epileptic fit while singing.
