we have to use the forward pass to set up the run. Because of our OL we cannot over power any defensive line, it appears, so far. Most teams can use the run to set up the pass. we are not like most teams. I believe we have a very good offense with good skill players. I think we need to pass at least 30 times a game to have any chance of winning. I still have hope.

I don't care if the offense moves the ball via the pass or the run. Just move the damn ball and score some points.

The defense is disgraceful (once again). The only shot UK has is to just let the offense do what it needs to do in order to score points.

Stoops needs to STFU about his offense scoring too quickly as well. Just score points. Considering that his defense sucks at the beginning of games and the 1st series of the 2nd half, it proves to me that their pitiful play has more to do with them simply sucking as opposed to their being gassed.

I am not sure we will see UF play UK as did USM. I doubt they feel the need to stack a box and beg us to throw it. I think we see a defense that plays base on the first possession and then adjusts. I do not know how this offense will recover from the last 2 quarters, but I think our play calling will need to be balanced. I also doubt Drew gets some of the time he got in the first half on Saturday.

Problem with that is our line can't give Barker enough time against a CUSA team. What do you think a SEC line will do to him?

UF has a really good DL...they won't need to blitz a ton to control us in the box. And they have a really good CB in Tabor who won't need much help on his side of field.

I agree...you'll see a way different gameplan from UF defense...and I'll argue UK will need to run the ball better to score in the 20's vs. UF.

I am taking a wait and see approach on our run blocking. USM D line was not large, but seemed quick, and actively schemed. Our kids might look better against more conventional D lines, even if not great. It can be harder to execute your block when the D line is attacking, and at (relatively speaking) high speed. Not sure we are going to face many more D lines composed of 4 SDE, which is what I really saw in USM.

UK better run the ball better. We heard good things in the fall about our run game, but we now see what competition it had on the DLine side of the ball (we kind of already knew that, right?). But, if they cannot generate yards on the ground, Barker will look like he did last year and in the second half on Saturday.

True. Hope you are correct.

The way some people talk on here we won't gain a yard against Florida and they will be able to name the score. I did watch the first half of last weeks game, and see that we actually do have an offense that can rack up yards and points in a hurry. We have talented players. Barker is still in the growing phase. If we can put even 3 quarters worth of the offense we displayed in the first two last Saturday out there we are going to win some games despite the defense.
