Yeah...I think T. Buck was an ace recruiter and the lead recruiter on a couple of guys we're hoping to land come signing day, like 4 Star WR Desmond Fitzpatick. .

If Fitzpatrick doesn't come to UofL because TBuck left then so be it. For gosh sakes, Buckley wouldn't be his position coach and because they are on opposite sides of the ball, they wouldn't interact very much.
Entering Year 3, these are the first coaches we've lost. And they're going to SEC programs, not getting fired or bailing from a sinking ship.

You have to look at these coaching changes as an opportunity. Coaches aren't going to be around forever especially if they have success.
You could argue that our secondary was the weakest part of the defense this year so was that coaching? On recruiting neither landed a 4 or 5 star recruit so maybe the next two are even better recruiters. My point is there is always room for improvement. You prefer that to happen organically, but sometimes change is good.
Let's see who they hire before worrying about who they lost.

I am with the cycle. I am hoping this has more to do with accountability. Why was secondary consistently beat on big plays? There didn't seem to be much change or adjustment during the season. Hopefully there was pressure put on these guys and they decided to move on.
It is position coaches best interest to move around. The more exposure you have to potential employers the better. Unless you are a qualified HC candidate, most assistant coaches want to work for as many programs/HC's that could potentially hire them to better jobs.

Any defense that's designed to stop the run and leave their DBs on an island is going to get burned more on big plays than a grind-it-out attack. That's pretty typical of the U of L defense.
It does mean we need good DBs. And toward that end, you seeing us recruiting a lot of them...
