In my field, psychology,I estimate that 60-70% of the patients I encountered in my career were misdiagnosed somewhere down the line. They still get help in some form. Just not the best and most optimal treatment. Regarding viruses,my guess is there exists some level of misdiagnosis also. Not sure the level.
