This is one reason I understand not doing preseason tournaments. It's better to spread out your games. Plus, if you have a player hurt, having to play 3 games in 3 days isn't wise.

We were as high as 4 or 5 after we beat Gonzaga, but have dropped quickly since then. Week by week it goes like this …

#5 - 12/9
#7 - 12/16
#19 - 12/23
#24 - 12/30

We have got to shore up the defense or we will continue to plummet. The climb back up starts tomorrow afternoon.

Honestly a little worried what our NET is gonna do when we play Florida in a week or so.

I think this might be one of the first pivotal points in Pope's career here. He has to get these players to buy into the system, fix their mistakes, play the right guys, and keep them engaged. I have faith, but if they come out flat against Brown and Florida, like they did the last few games, we might have a problem. It's been 10 days. These guys better be on their A-game the next week, and there's no reason they shouldn't be.

One of my biggest concerns has been energy through an entire game. It’s been lacking some for sure. Like they get flat. Seeing guy bend over instead of getting to the floor for loose balls, arms down when guarding on the perimeter (Clayton will light it up if we don’t fix that), and no contest on interior shots. Just some stuff that can be fixed if our dudes are engaged fully.

Kenpom numbers are a little rough. 26 overall, 12 offense and 63 defense. That defensive number is concerning. If this team wants to get to a Final Four we have to be able to get stops.
Well, I would never say anything is impossible.....especially when it comes to sports but anyone who thinks this roster has any business sniffing a Final 4 then you are either building this team up to the fans for a letdown or not a Pope fan and will consider it a failure if he doesn't get there hence setting up a lose - lose situation. This teams ceiling and yes, I said ceiling is at best a Sweet 16 but more likely round of 32. These guys have all been playing college ball for years and they just don't have the athleticism to play elite defense.

This. This would be the least talented UK final four team ever if it somehow happens. No high level talents on the roster.

Gonzaga losing again probably the reason why. They are 9-4 now and that win is not looking as great as it was when it happened. Gonzaga's best wins are over 8-3 Baylor, 9-2 Arizona State, and 10-3 Indiana. Losing to WVU and UCONN cancelled those out. They have not beat a top team, have played a tough schedule, but lost 4 games against it.

We play Florida this Saturday. I think Pope is having a difficult time getting guys to trust one another, and not the name on the back of their jersey.
