We need to steal some extremely tough road wins…

and not lose any more games at home.
Sitting at 6 losses, we really need to avoid getting to 12 losses.

We have home games against UT, FLorida, Texas (who just won @ Bama), UGA and Vandy. Can't lose any of those.

We have to assume we're going to lose in the SECT, so that's at least 7 total losses, then we have:

@ LSU
@ Tennesee
@ Vandy
@ Florida
@ Auburn
@ aTm
@ Arkansas
@ S Carolina

Need to beat LSU and USC for sure, but we also have to steel some of those other games. That Missouri loss in Rupp made this so much harder, we really needed to get that one.

I love Kentucky basketball as much as anyone. This team is the most frustrating team I have watched in 38 years. There is nothing about this team, even after last night, that would instill confidence they will finish 500 or above.
this team don’t even start to play with any effort until down 20-6 and getting boo’ed on their own damn court. Everything about this season is an embarrassment. I hate to be negative but this team has kicked me in the nuts too many times already this season.
The lack of effort and fight, actually not lack of, the nonexistent effort for huge stretches this season is sickening.

Yeah, 0 chance we win all our home games with that schedule.

Agree. I hate to be negative but there is supposed to be hope because we beat an unranked Miss St at home? And now we are likely without Lowe and potentially without JQ for rest of season. If Pope will be here next season he better focus on recruiting and portal because we need a large turnover of players

More importantly, it's how they did it. The slow start (again) is a concern, but they finally played team basketball and a couple players really showed they are much better than what they showed up to this point (DA and Kam).

Man, I hope not. I'm encouraged by our Kenpom numbers. I have no idea how we're ranked 26th overall. I also have no idea how our defensive rating is 25th and our offensive rating is 44th. It feels like we should be much worse than that.
We just don't do this against good teams. We look decent/ok against bad/middling teams like IU, St Johns, and Miss state. Against good/elite squads we get ran off the floor. That's the story so far. If that changes, ill revise my statement.

I actually think the SECT could still be on the table if we improve. Because I dont see any dominant teams. But that still hinges on us getting better which is no given.

Up to this point, yeah, that's certainly true, but the offense finally woke up yesterday. Pope went back to his original offense and actually played the right guys. This COULD be a turning point.

I hope I don't regret saying that. Lose @ LSU on Wednesday and it’s over. That's the position we're in right now.

Pretty much. Lose at LSU and we’re most likely looking at a 1-4 start in conference. And this is the easiest part of the SEC schedule

Just the truth. Lol, this team is putrid. We just did this song and dance after St Johns. We don't do this against top 15 teams. We get spanked.
I can’t help but feel fans are blinded by yesterday’s win, but ignore the fact that we were extremely sloppy that game. It didn’t help that Miss State was even sloppier. Maybe we should wait till after the LSU game before jumping the gun.

But it’s been mostly against Q1 teams that we lose. And unfortunately for us, we have a lot of them remaining.

That is an unhinged post to make the morning after a 20 point win. At least wait for the team to lose again before posting about how badly we suck. Weird timing
Unhinged!? Whatever dude. They finally played a great half against St John’s, best half of the season, and then provide two
Embarrassing performances the next two games. Embarrassing in playing for each other, effort and fight. How the hell can that be? And a big part is Pope. But the players are the ones out there looking like *** the majority of the time.
Miss St is god awful, and we were down 20-6 to start.
Yes we played a better 2nd half and showed good signs…but like I said, this team has kicked me in the nuts all season.
They put just one damn full game together and I will have a sliver of hope.
Now, Pope’s line up patterns dont help, but guys need to show fight and competitive spirit that represents UK from the opening tip.
Ain’t happened in the first 16 games.

The Tennesee game is where the rubber meets the road for this team. That is a massive game for us. Win it and we have something brewing, lose it, okay, but get blown by 20+ and the writing is on the wall.

Need to win our next 4, 3 of 4 at worst. Then we really need to steal a win at Vandy. That would really move things in the right direction. I know I’ll get blasted, but I think we can win down there. We gotta bring it like last night for the full 40 minutes, though. GBB!

-Need to go 6-1 at home (gotta figure at least we’ll lose 1)

-Beat LSU and South Carolina on the road

-Go 3-3 in remaining road games, no worse than 2-4

yields 12-6 or 11-7 at worst

2 wins in SECT yields 23-11 or 22-12

prolly 6-7 seed

MSU is one of the best defensive team in the SEC, if not the best. They were also on a 6 game winning streak. They’re not as bad as you think. Not great either.
