We seem to excel at pissing away games we should win

Tonight, OSU (twice, but especially there), at Maryland, all games where we had it within our grasp but found a way to fold like a deck o' cards. So frustrating. Demps and McIntosh just didn't bring it tonight and without either of those playing well we have zero shot. Liked what Olah brought (aside from those repeated monster bricks on three's, can't you at least hit the rim?), Falzon and Skelly. Wish Lindsay would've brought the "A" game and still not sure what Lumpkin brings anymore other than 5 hard fouls.

Credit to Beilein and Michigan though. His teams play tough and find ways to win. NU isn't as talented as the Wolves and in hoops talent usually wins. Give NU a couple more years to try to get some Jimmies and Joes who can match up with the top half of the Big 10.

Well that will certainly help but one key thing we seem to miss on this year's team is moxie. I hope the new recruits have that in spades because we'll need it. A rebounder or two would help also; I lost count of the number of misses UM collected and deposited, often by the same player! We should've won this one folks.

Benson and Ivanauskas should help inside, but Olah will be missed.

Credit Beilein for making an adjustment to NU strategy by playing three or four guards at a time, creating matchup problems in the man-to-man defense. It also helps that he has that many talented players waiting in the wings and enough size and quicks in his guards that they can take it to the basket and finish against taller players.

Credit him for recruiting them. That's the biggest part of winning hoops, having the Jimmies and Joes. NU doesn't hame them yet.
