I'm going to be trying one tonight for the first time. Anyone had any experience with them? Mine is 18 pounds.

The Mrs. loves it. I've used one a few times. When real cold out or I've got an achy feeling either from a cold/flu or doing too much physical labor and back hurts...I like it.

I haven't used a weighted blanket, but I used to be called a wet blanket... not because of my sour attitude, but because I used to constantly pee the bed and refused to wash my sheets.

But I have used a weighted pillow before. The secret is to avoid getting the weighted pillow on top of your nose or mouth because if you do then you will get dieded.

If you get one, get a bamboo one. They are designed to be able to be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. At least that’s what the claim is. I have a regular weighted blanket but I only cover up when it gets cold, even just covering up with a top sheet is too much for me during the warmer nights.

Also, get a cover for it. Even if the weighted blanket is machine washable, you aren’t going to want to deal with washing and drying that damn thing.

I'm a furnace. Wife is constantly cold. So she's under a 2 blankets, and i'm on top of the sheets debating on turning on the ceiling fan. When she gets too cold she snuggles up to me, and covers me with the blankets too. I don't think she realizes the great restraint I show by not strangling her.

Fan all year round, last thing I want is to have to struggle to get out from under a weighted trap...

Too warm blooded to even consider....
