Xfinity Series points leader and heavy championship favorite Connor Zilisch won the race at Watkins Glen yesterday. He pulled into victory lane and stood on the car to celebrate. He lost his footing resulting in a face plant to the asphalt ----> broken collar bone. I've heard broken collar bones are brutal to deal with so it wouldn't surprise me if he sits out the remainder of the season. Helluva way to lose a championship.

If he manages to finish the season, hats off to him.

He said just a broken collarbone. Well he is about to find out that the collarbone controls everything in the body. You wiggle your toe your collarbone hurts. Amazing he caught his foot in the door when he was falling so he face planted! Ouch.

When I saw the clip of him falling I thought it was much worse; looked like his head bounced off the concrete so I was thinking head injury

He had already removed his helmet, eh? (I’ll pass on watching the replay.)

For a moment I thought this was in reference to Mariano Rivera tearing his Achilles tendon at the Yankees Old-Timers game yesterday. Ffs.

Just another example of Dale Earnhardt Sr’s toughness, grit and passion for racing. He once drove with a broken collarbone and cracked sternum. I can’t imagine what the 5 point restraints feel like when you strap them up tight on a fractured collarbone and sternum.

Start each of the next few races. Park the car right after the green flag. Stay eligible and rest up as much as possible for playoffs.
