I think this shows how close the edge is either way of winning or losing. All one has to do is look at Iowa yesterday to see them passing for less than 100 yards - something like 60 something and still winning. Somehow, teams find a way to get the W even when things don't look to be in their favor. It will be an interesting next couple of games and the season next year will be full of drama. This board will go crazy I am afraid!

while I don't think the ranking committee has a checkmark in the quality win column for us ...we are winning the games where we have better or equal talent which is a huge step forward compared to last year
the Iowa game will be interesting .. the loser will likely finish 3rd in the west

Actually the Iowa win yesterday helps us... No way to look over them, not that we would have anyway

So the question is if we lose to Iowa will people consider it a good year? Did we actually improve and make that jump to respectability? If we win the next 2 games does that clearly send the signal that the prograrm is on the right trajectory? Good teams reload, we will need to do that in spades next year. We are not a young team.

personally I will view it as a step forward but I don't think anyone will be pounding their chest if we finish 3rd in the West and likely 6th overall in the BIG

It's a shame we couldn't pull out the OT win. We could lose to Iowa and still go to CG. Penn St is likely to be in CG because of their head to head over Buckeyes. They should win out and Ohio St will be favored over Michigan.

If we win out we would tie Wisky for first but they would win the division how you get 3rd in the West is beyond me.o_O

Sorry for not clarifying.. Was asked what happens if we lose to Iowa above .. which would mean Iowa and Nebraska would have 3 conference losses and Iowa would hold the head to head thereby leaving us third. If we win out I don't consider us as a tie for first. Wisconsin holds the head to head so I would consider us 2nd in the West.

...last year we would have lost this type of game.....two years ago, if memory serves, we DID lose this game.....

8-2 ....yes, a flawed 8-2, but 8-2 nonetheless....and maybe a smidge from 9-1....
After the last several years I'll take a flawed 8-2 with people complaining Nebraska "is not really a good team" over sweating making a bowl game. I'll take a 9-3 season (for now), second in the west as long as we are competitive in a bowl and recruit in the top 15. And speaking for just me, I enjoy the "tone" of this staff, the PCs, including us in recruiting trips, and all that.

With the injuries at crucial positions, it will be a muddy battle against Iowa. I'm concerned about that hamstring for Tommy. There's a WHOLE LOT of ankle tape holding these wins together.

But yet again, a crucial, game-ending interception when it was desperately needed. Watch that pick again, that play was won in the film room. Those boys knew what was coming and who was getting the ball.

Since when that pick happened Wolitarsky was 8-90, the next most prolific receiver was 3-17 and they had run 34-85 to that point, it made sense that is where Leidner was going whether they saw film on it or not. Classic case of going to the well once too often. Did you notice when Kieron got tackled after the pick he had a head-bounce similar to what TA had against OSU? I was worried there until he got up.

We might not see the best out of this team til the bowl game. Maybe then everyone will get healed up and we'll put a full game together for once. Really hope Tommy can get back to 100% by Iowa but I'm afraid that ain't happening.

We'd better hope Tommy can play and play well in both games, not just vs Iowa.

What is your opinion TruHusker?

Just my opinion. I hate the "9-win" bar, but I'll call it good this year. I don't know if a win out will gain respectability, unless you're talking about second tier respectability. Undecided on trajectory. A large majority are still Bo's recruits. How much total game time has been accrued by some of these players. I still see this year as a stacked deck for Riley in terms of skill position players.

Big difference. Tommy was out of bounds and pretty much hit concrete with a rug pulled over it. Kieron hit in the field of play which has padding...
