The slimy program won.

I know a lot of people will crush the refs, but most of the 2nd half fouls were legit. Players never adjusted.

Karnowski couldn't make his shots, and Gonzaga's foul trouble was a killer. They needed Collins on the court.

Maybe Collins should have thought about the karmic implications before he blocked Pardon through the hoop :)

Coaches on both sides failed and allowed the game to become a street fight. Collins in foul trouble hurt, but lack of any system on offense hurt more. Zags blew it.

Not sure what the coaches could do, it was the refs that ruined that game, and completely wrecked the flow of the game. Let the kids play.

I wondered if that was the biggest center Karnowski had ever faced. Whatever was going on with him, he hardly scored at all underneath. Had he made his average they would have won going away. I think.

The kid from St. Mary's goes 6'11" and 255 and Karnowski played him pretty well this season. Wonder if his eye was still bothering him.

That was one of the worst-played championship games I've seen in quite a while, aided by the inconsistency of the officiating. I think NC was something like 3 for 26 from three-point range at one point.

I would agree. Karnowski essentially gagged. He short-armed everything.

That game was really a rough watch. Completely agree with you that it was called tight, and while I wish it would have been called a little more loose, the players never adjusted to the way it was being called. I'm with you there. Between the obnoxious amount of fouls, turnovers, bad shooting, and overall sloppy play, I can honestly say I really didn't even enjoying watching that game. It had no flow at all and very few exciting moments. Though I will say that the last five minutes or so were played better than the first 35 and did make for a relatively exciting finish.

Hard to disagree with anything posted above. I was actually rooting for the Zags to win even though it would have kept me from ending up 2nd in the Wildcat Report Bracket Challenge.
