It’s interesting to observe the different ways people are reacting to the news and how they’re processing it. One universal theme: it was time.
I’ll remember CJF as a high-character guy who found his dream job, who loved his job and did his level best every day. Just like me (if I’m allowed to call myself high-character). One big difference: I had tenure.

I don't know how many people watch FTB's content, but they did a special edition of the show today to discuss the news, and I thought Kevin Horne's take was spot-on.
I'll bullet point it for you:
-mix of emotions: sad, but also a sense of relief
-choice had to be made
-The paradox: we were in the big moments because of CJF, but we couldn't win in the big moments because of CJF
-became an egomaniac following B1G championship season, and relationship with fans and university became increasingly hostile
-made close to $100 million in salary, donated a total of $15,000 to the university
-CJF made "alignment" speech, and less than 200 days later, is fired
