I came across Game 3 of the 1976 NLCS on YouTube and thought I'd ask those Phillies fans that remember, were the Phillies better with Dave Cash & Larry Bowa or Manny Trillo & Larry Bowa? How did they compare? Thank you in advance.

Wasn't Cookie Rojas, one of the few baseball players to man every position in a single game? The days of Wine and Rojas for me.
After thinking about it, Cash couldn't hit me if I ran through the batters box. I'd take Trillo.I was a Bobby Murcer guy, so I went from the Yanks to the Giants to the Cubs. Trillo was on those Cubs teams. Solid defensively, but not much of a bat (not nearly as bad as Bowa though). He could get streaky. I think he was leading the league in hitting for a long while one season, but he couldn't sustain it. I'd take Cash if we needed runs. And you always need runs.

Maybe, but I think I remember Cesar Tovar from the Twins doing it also.Wasn't Cookie Rojas, one of the few baseball players to man every position in a single game?
that would be Bert CampanerisWasn't Cookie Rojas, one of the few baseball players to man every position in a single game?
I saw both play and the sabermetrics are pretty spot on Cash gets the nod even with Trillio playing a half year more( 81 Strike)I was a Phillies fan since I was a young lad in the early/mid 60's.
Dave Cash was a hitting machine who brought the Pirates WINNING tradition with him.
Pete Rose came aboard, and gave Schmitty, Luzinski, and Bowa a "Big Red Machine" kick in the *** and won the '80 World Series!
Manny Trillo was a great 2nd baseman, and had quite a few big hits during his time with the Phillies.
Tough call between Cash and Trillo. Phils had much better pitching when Trillo was there. Loved Cash, but, going Trillo here, by a hair.
He played 8 in one game and all during his career. Bert Campaneris and Cesar Tovar I believe accomplished that?Wasn't Cookie Rojas, one of the few baseball players to man every position in a single game?
Yes, I knew there a few others but a rare occurrence.Bert Campy Campaneris played all nine positions in a game in 1965.

In 1965, the Kansas City A’s were on their way to a 103-loss season. In order to draw crowds, A’s owner Charlie O. Finley came up with “Campy Campaneris Night,” in which his young…parallelnarratives.com
