Not a bad first half!! We seem to always play well in the first half though. Hopefully we don’t implode in the second half.

Just turned it on, seems like the patented “you guys all suck, season is lost, I’m gonna let the hustle guys just do whatever they want” move is having its desired effect. I wonder if we’ll buy our way into the CBI again

Man how far have we fallen. This is the type of dogfight we used to get into at Allen Fieldhouse where we would be fending off a title contender with everything we got. Now our best shot has us clinging to life against a team that is 5-9 in conference play…

Staff changes needed.

Need to fire Huggins. I love the guy but it’s time, I also realize we will out of respect allow him to drag this out another year longer atleast. It’s not because of this L, it’s because we are going to finish 10th for the 2nd time in 4 years. This particular group is full of upperclassmen, we are just an all around bad program right now and our HC is famous for running off the possible National POTY on top of being 68. It’s going to take someone younger to dig us out of this.

Uhhhh....Huggs will fix it. He hasn't won 914 or whatever games for nothing. It's not his fault the players don't make a basket AFTER he TELLS them to make it. What else do you expect? He stood by his stool and raised his hands in condescending disbelieve and disgust. What else can he do to send the players a message that they simply need to listen, and if they do, they'll never lose?

Imagine if they simply listened. "Make a shot!" And they do. They'd score 180 points a game. "Stop him!" And they do. The opposing team never scores. Seems easy enough, they just need to listen.

There's a few players that need to be told they are no longer needed for the rest of the year. I know one in particular that is just a guy standing outside the 3-point line and not even trying.

Traditionally we usually have atleast 1 true star (Butler, Alexander, Jevon, KJ), and 2 or 3 guys who would start on most teams in the conference (Dax, Truck, Ruoff) , and then a bunch of hustle guys (Mazz, Thoroughman, Gabe) or some underclassmen that have potential to be stars.

This team simply doesn’t have a star or a potential star. Maybe Taz starts for some teams in the conference, and we have one hustle guy in Gabe who is in a role that is way too large for his talent level (I’m aware he played out of his mind tonight). I don’t care who is or isn’t getting minutes at this point, this season just needs to end as recruiting is the only thing that can cure the on court product.

This is what happens when you don't have good players.

Good teams have talent. We are not and don't. It's that simple. Recruiting has to improve significantly.
Maybe so, but look at the final 30 seconds. We inbound it in the corner, knowing a trap would happen, we hunker down like a beaten child and are forced to call a timeout. We come out of the timeout, with what looked like ZERO idea of what they were trying to do and what we needed to do. Turned it over, gave up the lead for good. Fact is that we had Taz inbounding, perhaps our most elusive player on the court for defenses to keep in front, instead of on the court getting free for the pass.

This is beginning to resemble the Catlett meltdown 20 years ago. Taz is quickly becoming another version of Drew Shiffino.

Taz should be in Europe, idk how we convinced him that coming back and leading this pack of losers was worth losing a year of earnings professionally.

After a timeout. THAT is on the Head Coach.
How do you figure that? If the play is there and they're to stupid to run it then it's the players. Taz should never have called timeout with McNeil in the corner in the first place. Give him the chance to go between them and draw the foul.

Quit drinking.
Do you ever watch the game ? Have you ever watched any game? Did you play the game? Or are you just homer stupid? This team is bad and sad to say. Huggs is a shell of himself. Just another component in the Shame Lyins plan for mediocrity.

Once again ignorance rides the boards. Have you dumbasses not figured out Huggins will leave when Huggins wants to leave.

Until you figure that out you'll be bouncing your damned head off the wall. What ignorant ranting fools you are.

Huggins will exit when he chooses, but his recruiting, and the recruiting of his coaches, must improve significantly. Big, big changes need to be made in this area or we'll continue to be the doormat of the conference, or in other words, the Duquesne of the Big 12.

Spread...save your breath when talking to TBone/Capeman Allen. His mom sings the wvu fight song to him every night when she buttons up his gold and blue sleeper while he clutches his Bobby Huggs stuffed bear.

I doubt that. He’s the GOAT here for basketball, but a Final Four (12 years ago under a different AD to boot) is not a National Title, he’s not untouchable. 10th in 2 of 4 years with little to be excited about for any of the potential returning players given his age is a very concerning situation. Given his relationship with the community, the overall body of work, I think he gets the opportunity to finish his career with a “last season” type of deal and if he refuses that then he gets a 1 year grace period to turn it around and be unceremoniously fired if he doesn’t. This isn’t the 2013 situation. 59 and 68 are two very different ages for a coach, do we really expect the guy to reinvent himself again and put together a 4 year run with a new style of play? You can’t allow him to drag the program into the ******* and erase the good things he did from the living memory of today’s recruits.

Shane doesn't have the balls to fire him.

WVU has only been to 2 final 4's and those were 50 years apart.

I expected him to retire last year and it did not happen.

But nobody on this board or in the front office takes him down. Just another star coach that stays too long.

I support who is here now and I'll support the next guy that will win and be gone in 6 years or lose and be fired in 4.

I agree. He won’t be fired ever at WVU. He will be allowed to retire. My opinion is he’s definitely back next year.

Maybe they ought to just "Win one for the Gipper." Then everything will be ok. But Saturday vs. Texas isn't a gimme.
