Coach Kruger is a little more "mature". Plus, even if he wanted to do so, his experience would likely tell him such a stunt might come back to haunt him if say we played them...in the B12 tourney? ;)

Seriously, I think the only time you have not argued with me on something is when I said something good about Texas. I know most of the people on this board, several personally, and none would take up for Lon saying something this juvenile in public.

Huge Shaka Smart fan. I don't mind it at all. Should have beat his butt and made him look stupid, but we didn't.

I can see Mike Stoops saying Texas sucks to a bunch of OU fans, couldn't you??

Not sure anyone beats KU consistently but I think he is there to stay. Time will tell.

"If" is the operative word here, but I don't see Lon ever leading OU fans in a "texas sucks" cheer. That seems kind of beneath him, but I am not surprised that a horn coach would denigrate an opponent.

Well we have our best team in a decade and we beat him on a last second shot at home and got beat by a good margin at Texas this year. But I would say so far with a 1-1 record vs. Coach Kruger there hasn't been a lot of tail kicking happening.

He's got 3 top 100 national commits that will be freshmen next year (the #11 class in the country) and is the favorite to get one last commit from Jarrett Allen a top 25 kid in the class of 2016 who's from Austin this spring. Which would give him a great recruiting class.

I'm a Shaka Smart fan from a long time back, so I think if you are playing him off as a flash in the pan coach you are crazy.

I hate the OU sucks crap by our fans. They are probably the same ones that don't like the Horns down. Shaka saying it to a bunch of students is not a big deal though.

Shaka is a big Buddy Hield fan just like all Texas fans.

I don't see what the big deal is. Smart is a young, outgoing coach and he was just having a little fun. Who cares

You're right I do agree. That's definitely the key word. But I concur I just don't see a guy like Lon doing something of this nature.

Of course it's juvenile. But we know as OU fans, it's celebrated every time a good ole "Texas Sucks" is yelled out in public. So whether it's juvenile or not has never mattered over the course of history in the rivalry between OU and the Whorns.

Lon would look kinda ridiculous saying "Texas sucks". He might have could pulled that off 30 yrs ago but not now

As fans it's our job to remind Texas of their suckage.

But I want to see our coaches and players represent the program with class and respect for their opponents....even if they don't.

Rare exceptions with players can be made I.e. The Boz

In situations, not really, but in front of media I like to see respect for the competition. Save the attitude and chip on the shoulder for the game. Before and after game is time to show class. Jmo.

Actually, I hope he does. He never won a league title (either Colonial or A-10 ) in his 6 years at VCU.
