What a snow storm out west....

Boy did they need it. Mammoth ski resort is getting blasted. Literally was dirt almost everywhere. Storm started Christmas eve and late yesterday had 51 inches on the ground with another 30+ forecasted today and snow into tonight with a final of 80-90 inches of fresh snow. Webcams are just crazy. This is hitting most resorts but not as much for others. Horrible flooding down in the valleys. The video's of the flooding coming in is heartbreaking. Send some of that snow Vail's way. We need it.
Not the worst opening ever but looking like the worst start of season I've ever seen. Almost January and way too little open .

Delayed opening this morning. Employees are probably having difficulty getting there

Been a bad start to the season no doubt. I saw pics of Vail and Aspen basically skiing on brown dirt. Mammoth was even worse. Now Mammoth looks like mid Feb after this storm. Heavenly and Palisades (Squaw) are getting really good snowfall as well from this storm.

2 ski patrollers were caught in an avie doing mitigation work this morning at Mammoth mountain ski resort. 1 patroller with many broken bones the other is in very serious condition and being moved from mammoth hospital to a trauma center. Dangerous work when storms this big hit
