What are your expectations for the PSU Pinstripe team?

- Injury free game for players
- Young OL step up and fill gaps. Will we see Goodman and Alciene (Freshman OTs?)
- Youngsters receive lots of PT for CMC and staff adequate game film for evaluations
---- Young fill ins play physically and aggressively
- Younger DTs, LBers, RBs and WRs establish themselves
- Limited snap counts for those who are draft eligible but elect to play
- "W" would be bonus but game PT for next year's players more important.

It's largely an audition of players co-coached between the official PSU coaches and their successors.

1) Injury free is the most important thing

2) OL might be one of the bright spots to observe in this game. To my knowledge only Ioane has opted out. I also won't be surprised if certain OL people follow Trautwein to Florida via the portal after the game.

3) Release the underused younger WR's....not the overpaid ones per Franklin's and Kotelnecki's weird NIL $$ compensation scheme.

4) The woefully slow $300,000 Dominic Deluca gets one, and only one, ceremonious play in this game. Akin to milk cartons residing at the back reaches of a grocery store's milk cooler, it's time for Dom to admit his shelf life has expired. It's time to involve the speedier youngsters, many of whom weren't allow to participate per Franklin's edict.

WTAE to carry game.
It is a bit of a surprise that WTAE is carrying our game. Obviously everyone in Pittsburgh will be watching the marque matchup between the pitters and the East Carolina Pirates who finished in fifth place in the awesome American conference. It is great that the pitters got rewarded for their superb season.

Is there a list somewhere of the Penn State and Clemson opt outs? Who will be our running backs? If Allen hasn't opted out then he will likely make a few cameo appearances.

None. I expect it to be a shi*t show. Too many missing pieces on both sides of the ball (for both clubs) to draw any conclusions, short of individual performances.

Hope the players have fun and get through this healthy. Score will mean nothing.

Sounds like I'm in the minority here, but I see it as the biggest game of the season. Postseason battle with Clemson. Chance to end the season on a high. Win this, and I see the season as at least somewhat of a success.
I am similar but I see it as the lead in to 2026. 2025 season has been over since Northwestern. I am fine with the opt outs and whatever the Harris situation is. I would love to see Allen bust a long TD run early and then bow out to let the young guys carry the rock and the young passing game see what they can do.

Can Grunk/Denmark/Howard give us hope for a vertical passing game in 2026?
Which young back steps in to Allens shoes?
Who plays OT next year?
Can one of the other LB step up (I was hoping Tasch would get lots of snaps, sucks about the injury)
Who steps in for Wheatley as the leader of the secondary (Dixson excluded as he is already CB1).

I am very excited for the game

Just remember that we do not know which of these young players will be returning, so drawing any conclusions will be difficult.

I am not trying to be a debbie downer but if we look at this scrimmage from the perspective of a game we will likely build in unrealistic expectations. I will watch individual player performances with fingers crossed that they are not rehearsing for their next landing spot.

Seems like it may be more important for Dabo. He's the only one who really stands to catch a lot of hell if he loses.

I get that, but as a coach I understand the value in every game, even if some of those playing do not return.

I see it as a meaningless garbage game. With opt outs (both sides) it just basically is like an NFL preseason game. Unlike the NFL it counts in the final record for the season.

As a former player I understand it as well, but for the fans expecting a "game" and hoping for a certain "outcome" I believe it is important to tamper expectations. Its a scrimmage, and as such has value for those who return.

So what does Ak know about the Allen defense. How can he exploit it.

Opt outs will have an effect on our team, but by all reports they will have an equally large, if not larger, impact on Clemson. From that standpoint it should be a pretty evenly matched game.

For all of the posters complaining that it won't be our team out there, I would say that the guys who are playing have been on our team all year long and the game means something to them.

If Penn State is playing, I will be watching and hoping for a win! (Although I will be out of the country and not sure that I will be able to actually watch the game.)

Tatsch is hurt? Crap I missed that. I am always interested in a Penn State football game but admittedly this game is generating the least interest I have ever had in a Penn State bowl game.

I hope we see very little of the departing seniors and future portal guys who have not announced yet.

I want to see all the young guys and let's see what they can do.

On offense:
-Grunk. Please no ridiculous wildcat with Clifford
-Young Rbs- Wallace, Martin, Hayes, Coleman, Smith
-WRs Denmark (will he make an appearance?), Howard, Exinor, Brown, Samuel, Gonzalez, Outten
TE-Olesh?
O-Line - Goodman, Shanahan, Cousins, Williams, Onoh, Boyer, etc

On defense:
-D-Line -all young guys so no DDS or Ford. Want to see some combination of Gilliam, Williams,Kemajou, Harvey, Cook, Andrews, Adirika, Burnett, Blanding, Robinson, Wafle

LB- Wanted to see Tatsch but I guess he is hurt. Speca-what's up with him? Smith; Who else do we have? Jackson? Nelson? Arrington?

CB and Safety - Dixon, Wosely, Lane, Shorter, Toure, Johnson, Joseph, Armstead other young guys

LBer: Kari Jackson entering the portal.

TE: I thought there was a mention that Olesh was going to portal and if so it would be UM. With the UM coaching situation and PSU hiring a new OC/TE coach, haven't read uf Olesh's plans have changed.

WRs: I believe Gonzalez and Brown are out with injuries.

DT: Would like to see Adirika make an appearance. There were good reports during camp about him and then nothing, zero, zilch. Strange.
