I realize practice hasnt started yet...so what can players do on their own??? For example, can Drew take the receivers and throw passes and run routes all day long??

No.

They have to quit at midnight. But then they can start the next day.

The best thing they can do at this point is to watch out for each other; to not make poor decisions and counsel their brothers to do the right thing. It just takes a moment of stupidity or even simple neglect to mess it up and miss a game or the season or worse. Simply put, reach for the Snapple instead of the 40 oz. If it ain't on the approved list, don't eat it or drink it or mix it. Arrive healthy and ready to work. Set an example.

Not sure how the rule reads now but when I was in school it was under 10 players counted as individual workouts and you could do that as long as your heart desired as long as only one coach was present. More than one coach or more than 10 players constituted a group workout and those were limited. Not sure how it is these days but I'd imagine it's pretty close to the same.

Running routes outside of the normal practice is a great way for them to work on their timing. Hopefully they've been doing it all offseason
