i think 2015 was dana's chance to prove himself and if he could have coach up better offense (mostly at QB), he'd have an extension. imho, next year will be tough - occasionally brutal - and dana's fate is set.

i'm curious what others think about next year, on the heels of a shootout victory

Next year? The only certainty ......... A plethora of entertaining opinions, and then some.

6-6 at best.
The Genius will be gone, finally.

In the euphoria of last night's nail biting win against 6-6 ASU, let's not forget about the moronic decision the genius made to pooch kick the last kickoff and hand ASU the ball at the 40yard line - when all they needed was a field goal to win. The defense bailed him out and got a stop, but it was just the last in a season's worth of bone-headed decisions.

Lyons couldn't get any closer to Dana at the Trophy Ceremony even if they were siamese twins.

I think Dana gets a contract extension in the next few weeks, and we will see what happens next year. It may have been small steps but it is obvious WVU has improved every year since joining the B12. If he team continues to improve, he should and will remain the coach until someone gives him a better offer. If we don't improve, he won't be here long

8-5 with tremendous momentum going into next season. The trolls and low information fans can keep harping about Dana's only losing season back in 2013, but is anyone still listening - no.

This is only the beginning baby!

9-4 in 2016

Also, Dana coached WVU to their 4th top 25 offense in 5 seasons and gave WVU another top 30 passer at QB (28th)

"Tremendous momentum"
LMAO
We lost to a poor Kansas State team (and were horribly out-coached in the process), and beat a 6-6 team by 1.

I expect more personal insults, straw man arguments, logical fallacies, opinions confused with facts, emotional outbursts, bloviating, references to parents basements and mouth breathers and pizza delivery boys, more arguments for duel threat QBs, bad luck, poor officiating, lack of respect, internet bravado, armchair quarterbacking, weak arguments, recruiting failures, can't miss recruits, calls to fire the coach, calling out 19 year old football players, dissatisfaction, unhappiness, more reasonable posters dissappearing forever, trolling, constant criticism, unjustified enthusiasm, hope, justification, change and stagnation. Oh, and more five page long threads devoted to expansion. You?

Next year is a bad year to be a paper delivery boy, everybody going digital. Paper boy's fate is set. You can always collect carts at Sam's club.

I believe toping off our current recruiting and setting the stage for 2017 are crucial issues. Both hinge on the perception of Dana and his future. With uncertainty regarding Dana and the staff we may come up short at the end of this recruiting cycle and fall really flat next year. either (Or both) of these scenarios could be the difference in seeing this program grow and become meaningful in the Big XII or languish. Lyons and the fandom need to support this staff to the ultimate and let recruits know that Dana will be around for some time regardless of what the opposing staffs will be saying. I san hear RR and Graham and the HCs in the Big XII saying that Dana will be gone and recruits will not be playing for him. Best way in the World to kill a program (or retard it for several years!)

You can't change perception if he fails to win next year he won't be around and i doubt that RR or graham or other Big 12 coach's will be saying that. It will be coaches from the Acc, Big Ten, and Mac the teams that with are competing against for recruits

The season just ended and you already have next year as a complete failure on epic proportions.That's called TROLLING. Go away loser.

Nope I said that next season will be about the same. Why would you think it would be much better when we lose the majority of the defense that was slightly better than average at best?. I also said that teams competing against wvu for recruits will be saying that Holgorson will be on shaky ground and like it or not that is the case. I don't know exactly where I said the season would be an epic failure unless you have translated this post in whatever language it reads after a bong hit

I see no reason why we can't beat BYU, TT, and Texas next year. TCU, OU, and Baylor are games in Morgantown and we almost beat OSU this year (OT loss). Anything is possible Debbie - that is why they play the games.

Missouri W
Youngstown St W
(n)BYU (toss-up)
K State (toss-up-- can't ignore history or I'd put W)
@TTU (toss-up)
TCU (toss-up, barely, because it's a home game))
@OSU L
Kansas W
@Texas (toss-up, barely, close to putting L, it's a road game and expect UT to be better)
OU L
@Iowa State W
Baylor L

That's 4-3, 2-3 conference, with 5 toss-ups. If we go 3-2 in the "toss-ups" that would be 7-5 and either 4-5 or 5-4, conference)

Santa didn't bring somebody a backbone for Christmas, did he?

9-3. Losses to OSU, OU, and Baylor. Predicted loss to an SEC team in our bowl.

Well, I'll tell you what. I have enough backbone to take the under on your 9-3. Care to make a wager? As I thought I made clear, 7-5 would be my optimistic pick with 6-6 the next most likely.

I'll also bet you if you want the over on 7-5.
