Dude has turned into a UNC apologist. It's insane. I guess working at ESPN means you can't be critical of Skipper's alma mater and can't be criical of the sacred cow.

Biggest scandal in college bball and Bilas downplays it as not an athletics issue. Smh

Bilas loves his alma mater but IMO he is scared to death to be labeled a Duke homer like Vitale was and he goes overboard to try and have a neutral stand with all the schools. There are a hell of a lot more Hole fans than Devil fans so he tends to be throw more positive gestures UKs and UNCheats way than he does Dukes way. In his defense if he spoke negatively about the Cheats he would probably be looking for another job.

He could just remain quiet at this point.

Gotta admit, I've long been a Jay defender... but his UNC thing has driven me nuts, and his latest (insisting that the head of the SEC has to resign from the UNC case) is just such complete and absolute ******** that it is making me question Jay in every way.

Really enjoy Jay's broadcasts but noticed this season he spoke of the UNC case from a lawyer's perspective instead of a common sense view. If Duke U provided a major course of study that was determined "no show" and the '92/'01/'10 teams placed 50% of those squads in that field, imagine the public outcry. Jay has gotten too analytical in many areas.

There couldn't be more of a distance between Jay's opinion and mine on this subject.

If this 'scandal' could be put to a jury trial (and no UNC, Duke, NC State, or Kentucky fans were on the jury), the verdict would be rendered in less than 5 minutes...and Heel fans wouldn't be happy. There's 20 years of evidence that says Jay is wrong, but $20 million worth of lawyers that agree with him. I'll take the evidence.

Thirded. He knows what the damn rules are regarding panel make-ups in NCAA processes. Like the holes , he doesn't want the COI to even HEAR this case. Heck , if Sankey is a conflict of interest then , by definition , EVERYONE involved is too. Panels are made up of reps from member institutions. An SEC guy is no more of a conflict than someone from another P5 conference. Bilas' hatred of the NCAA has blinded him beyond all reason. He'll get on Twitter and argue ad naseum with the Ridpaths and Gurneys of the world...experts in the field. And he does it in that arrogant-*** "I know every damn thing" attitude. Anyone who dares to disagree with 'im is being "absurd." And not fer nuthin' but he works at a law firm here in Charlotte and you just KNOW it's staffed with an assload of hole grads. Gotta keep them happy if for no other reason than to protect that flexible work schedule.
