an injury, no depth, and a terrible record in close games
bad defensive team
i don't think turnovers has been the issue actually.

In addition to above, they have no inside presence which I believe Joe is hoping to be remedied by incoming recruiting class.

If the games were 35 minutes instead of 40, they'd likely be tournament-bound. Lack of depth really kills them in close games.

The Lauren Douglas injury killed us. We were simply not deep enough to survive it after the transfers a few years ago out of this Senior class

That is not a good enough excuse at this point. We're at the tail end of the season now and nobody has stepped up. It looks like recruiting and coaching is just not good enough, and I think we have to think about Joe's job security. He's a great guy and he resurrected the program, but much like Carmody on the men's side, we have to take the next step or at least make a change to see if we can. Recruiting women's basketball has become much tougher than it was in the early 1990s, but it's still considerably easier than men's recruiting because there are no one-and-dones in the ladies' game.

Who's going to step up exactly? The walk-ons? The big four play phenomenally, but the lack of depth due to injury and transfers means they consistently fade at the end. We were in the NCAA for the first time in ages last year, so this is nowhere close to a Carmody situation, imo.
