Not good enough for this level. Would be a very good player at WKU. Or Tulane.
Not surrounded by enough players that command double teams and defenses to sag off to provide him open shots, which is where he could potentially be effective. Otherwise, he can’t create his own shots, and isn’t an elite defender or rebounder.
You saying what happened to him like he was ever actually good
Nobody can get him the ball, 3 point shooting is his thing. Everybody going one on one.
this is true, if we had guards who can create he would be valuable on the wing 10-15 minutes a game
You can say that about the whole team.
He is a fourth or fifth option on the floor. He can be effective, but when your number one and two options are actually just a fourth or fifth option on most teams, then role players will struggle. These types of players are meant to make you pay when other players require help defense. We really don't have a player that meets that criteria.
When players can dominate cupcakes and can't show up in big games consistently. (Consistently is the key) its very concerning.
True, but Noah is indeed probably the best shooter on the team, so it would be ideal if we could create shots for him. But those will be few and far between this season, I’m afraid.
Trent Noah is just not an athletic enough guy to play at this level. It's really that simple. In high school, he was athletic enough to get by. He's a scrappy guy and he works hard, and he's got some size. That's usually enough on the high school level, but at the D1 level he struggles. He can't get open. He can't defend quicker guys. Good guy. All in for UK. Likable. Can't play at this level. He can play against Tenn Tech, yes, but not UNC, not Louisville, not Mich St, and not in the SEC.

last year he got 50-50 balls at a high rate. thing about 50-50 balls....its usually a random outcome. this year he isnt getting those. he didnt shot it well at all last year. he isnt this year. he is a practice player legend. i'm sure there will be a game where he hits 4 threes. but then go 3 weeks without being a factor in any capacity.

Noah needs to play. This team can't shoot at all. You have to throw him in there and set some screens for him. We were sold a fake bill of goods with Kam Williams shooting ability

Love Noah, but he’s D2, and is only on the team because of the fan nostalgia factor that Pope wanted, so when he sucked at his job, the fans wouldn’t notice.

Its a combination of this team not being good enough for him to be effective and him simply not being talented enough to play here.

The fact that he is getting minutes at KY tells you alot about Mark Pope and his ability to recruit.
Yes, anyone who saw him in the Ky State Tourney knows he can shot. He just looks stronger but slower.
The offense we're seeing seems not to put much emphasis on screening. This roster needs to run an offense with lots of screening and movement as we have no real shooters. The two we have can never get open. Sometimes it looks like we're running no real offensive scheme at all.
Outside of Chandler, none of our currently available guards are very good/willing to drive/pass to open shooters. And unfortunately for Noah, that means pretty limited opportunities from deep.
Fact is, if we had those kind of players, Noah would be fine, he would benefit from more talent, that could penetrate and pass, which we are lacking right now. I think Johnson can penetrate, but he is looking to score, not pass, and if he did that, he would play more. But that comes back to coaching, and making sure that is in his head, before he goes in the game.
To be fair, most players are going to look slower against D1 talent than HS Players, unless they're uber athletic.
Same reason Travis Perry went from averaging video game-level scoring numbers in HS to not doing much (so far) in college.
He isn't slower- everyone else is just a lot quicker than he played against.
