I moved a year ago and I amazed at the times the mailman comes. 4:30 would be incredibly early. Most days it's 5:30 at best. Tonight he came at 7:04. WTF?

Idk, but currently they are having to deliver a little more than usual so it's probably gonna take a little longer.

I saw a mail truck go by my house last Sunday, and my mail was delivered after 8 one night last week. Never seen either of those before.

I kept seeing mail trucks in my area on Sunday. I asked and they said Amazon hires people through the post office to deliver packages on Saturday & Sunday using the mail trucks. I have seen listings to hire people for this. Amazon supposedly pays for this.

My son ordered parts for a computer he's building and some were delivered this past Sunday. I thought it was odd.

USPS also will deliver on Sundays if something is overnighted. That’s obviously pretty infrequent, especially for residential, which is why we rarely every saw Sunday deliveries until Amazon started paying to have stuff delivered on Sundays.

People aren't aware in 2020 that USPS has a deal with Amazon to deliver packages that includes Sunday delivery??? That's been happening for at least 6 years.

...and they prefer to be called "mailslaves."

Hell I never know when I'll get my mail. Sometimes it's at the crack of dawn or 8pm. Makes no sense how it's so different sometimes.

All depends on whether they have enough carriers. If they do, all routes go out on time. If not, they take whatever still needs to go out and tax other carriers with helping on the undone routes when they finish theirs, hence the late start.

And USPS has been delivering Amazon packages on Sundays for a long *** time now. Years. Welcome to 2020 people.

2013 is the first year Amazon and USPS started a deal together. It is a lot more common in metro areas though, so if anybody is in a rural area, they probably don't see it as much.

We moved in December and our mail use to come before 10am. Since COVID, it now comes after lunch ... I'm pretty sure we are one of the first houses on our carrier's route (we are at the most northern point of our zip code).

And the more oversized packages (as in ones that don’t fit in the mailbox) they have to deliver the longer it takes because they have to get out of their vehicle and set it at the house. And obviously days with a lot of mail are going to take longer too.
