I moved a year ago and I amazed at the times the mailman comes. 4:30 would be incredibly early. Most days it's 5:30 at best. Tonight he came at 7:04. WTF?
My son ordered parts for a computer he's building and some were delivered this past Sunday. I thought it was odd.I kept seeing mail trucks in my area on Sunday. I asked and they said Amazon hires people through the post office to deliver packages on Saturday & Sunday using the mail trucks. I have seen listings to hire people for this. Amazon supposedly pays for this.
And it’s actually the correct job title as wellI prefer the non-specieist term mailcarrier. It’s less insulting to our non-human friends who share the planet with us, you insensitive bastard.
USPS also will deliver on Sundays if something is overnighted. That’s obviously pretty infrequent, especially for residential, which is why we rarely every saw Sunday deliveries until Amazon started paying to have stuff delivered on Sundays. My son ordered parts for a computer he's building and some were delivered this past Sunday. Hell I never know when I'll get my mail. Sometimes it's at the crack of dawn or 8pm. Makes no sense how it's so different sometimes.I moved a year ago and I amazed at the times the mailman comes. 4:30 would be incredibly early. Most days it's 5:30 at best. Tonight he came at 7:04. WTF?
And the more oversized packages (as in ones that don’t fit in the mailbox) they have to deliver the longer it takes because they have to get out of their vehicle and set it at the house. And obviously days with a lot of mail are going to take longer too.All depends on whether they have enough carriers. If they do, all routes go out on time. If not, they take whatever still needs to go out and tax other carriers with helping on the undone routes when they finish theirs, hence the late start.
And USPS has been delivering Amazon packages on Sundays for a long *** time now. Years. Welcome to 2020 people.
