What if they do win 6?

I know it's a long shot, but say uk beats nms, usc, vandy, miss st, Missouri, and Austin Peay and get to 6 wins and a bowl, is all forgiven? Onward and upward from there?

Everyone will simply say they were the one who stood by Stoops and the team.
And I will go record right now and say it is very doable. We just have to put together some confidence and the team will start rolling.

I'm starting to believe that there is a group that doesn't want it to succeed and they want a new coach because they misguidedly felt robbed they didn't get hot rod the last time .

I do think the southern miss game might be loss that doesn't look near as bad at the end of the season. Didn't expect to beat Florida. I think they could very well be 3-3 after vandy, and then we will see

Well there's no room for error now but I would be optimistic if they pulled out six and I hope it happens . Maybe I'm too patient or maybe I feel confident in my estimations of what this program is and its ceiling .

I still think there are some wins on this schedule. 6, I wouldn't bet on it. But we will see

Will ***** because it's not 7. Will ***** because of a cold weather bowl. Will ***** because another W would've meant a better(read warmer location) for a bowl. Will ***** because a 6 win bowl will conflict with a basketball game where a 7 win bowl wouldn't. Will ***** because it'd mean Stoops will stay another year instead of UK going after Herman or Brohm or Leach or Hatcher or.......

Can you really blame them? How has passing on the hot rod worked out?
You were never going to get BP , it was purely a message board frenzy that had no chance on UK's behalf . You guys should have been able to see that but you let hope carry the day and now you're bitter over self created fantasies . Briles is another case that posters are whizzing in the wind but can't see it .

If we win six games, no make that six bad games, we will go to the Larry's auto parts and tractor supply lawn and garden bowl, and get a big win and build for the future.

A team has to take a realistic look at who it could have signed as a coach when the vacancy was open. I tried to go back and look at who our candidates were at the time, but could not find an article.
If you want a coach with experience http://coacheshotseat.com/ this is a list of coaches on the hot seat. Would one of these be acceptable.
If we want an up-and-coming assistant coach, http://athlonsports.com/college-football/college-footballs-top-coordinators-rise-2015.
Then there is the smaller college coach looking to move up.

1. We enjoy our first bowl game in 5 years.
2. We see our recruiting class no bottom out which is a good omen for future.
3. We kidnap Mitch Barnhart and make sure he gives no 10 year extension :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

In all honesty...the likelihood of this steaming mess sweeping Miss st, Vandy, Mizzou and USC are slim to none. Outside of Jordan Bonner being a young version of Von Miller out of nowhere...we've seen the full team we have on our hands....we don't have a team to win 6 games.

Sometimes, I read a post on this board and think that I cannot possibly read anything more ignorant. And then I happen upon a post like this, and realize (regrettably) there are no limits to the depths of ignorance...

DA beat me to it, and then said it better than I could've.

And for the record....you take 6 wins any way you can get it, no matter who you are playing.

Your schedule is what it is, you cant automatically change out the teams in midstream that are bad for better ones....just to make your potential overall record "something to be proud of" SMH

I think it goes beyond getting those 6 wins or perhaps just getting 5 wins and missing out on a bowl again. While getting to a bowl is important showing your team is improving and trending upward is more important. Winning those 6 games and having competitive losses to everyone else on our schedule (Alabama excluded) would mean we are headed in the right direction and looking forward to another stoops year. You can tell how the team performs Each and every Saturday if we are showing improvement or not and heading the right direction regardless of the outcome. Did anyone feel great about squeaking out that win against EKU last year?

Sure not looking like a team that can win six games. But as I have posted before, who could they play in a Bowl game and be competitive. Most Bowl teams are pretty good football teams.

Sad how easily satisfied some UK fans are. Some trash-ash 6 wins. Some say "well we should be happy with any wins at this point"...no you should be tired of all of this BS. Anybody happened to look at stats for a half second? This team the last 6 quarters has been worse than anything Joker put on the field. We will beat the 4 of the worst SEC teams to get there. If you are satisfied that we lose to a C-USA team of 2 stars but are able to beat 4 teams in their down years. Ill pray for you. Everyone does realize If we had Stoops year 1 schedule again with the current team we have now. We would go 2-10 again, right?... The only reason we have a shot at 6 wins right now is because alot of SEC teams are down and getting beat and almost beat by non-power 5 schools left and right. Sad....You all do realize year 4 of all Stoops recruits should be a year to move forward, right? Not just 1 extra win against either a team who lost to South Alabama or a fairly sad Vanderbilt team. The only reason I would like to see 6 wins is for Jojo, Toth, and Harmon...I will in no way be "satisfied" by any means.

Then next year becomes the lame duck season. Sooner or later the inevitable will happen with this staff.

Might put a band aid on it. And hope they are convincing wins for sure. 4 SEC wins makes things tolerable until next years disaster.

I just want to see improvement. See that the team hasn't "quit". Right now that's all I want to see. Because it's better than what I have been seeing.

Message board frenzy? Yes. But it didn't originate here or was an idea unique to just posters. BP wanted to come to UK and made that well known. There were articles suggesting it even. But you're right, it was never going to happen but not because it didn't make sense or wasn't a even a possibility.

We are sorta like the nerd who self righteously passed on the desperate hot chick at the prom whos bf just dumped her. Never had a shot before that night and won't ever have that shot again. Yes there's other hot girls out there, but when they are extremely few and far between and way outta your league you...you don't pass on them! Making excuses for yourself after the fact cause you blew it really just comes across as pathetic.

I would be happy and back on the stoops train but I really don't see that happening. You don't go from looking like a junior college team to a team that goes 4-4 in the sec

We throw a party! The season is salvaged because we should keep the recruits with a bowl run. More tweaking and Stoops may need to hire someone to help him directly! Other coaches have done that and it might work - but nothing to lose at this point!

Go Big Blue!

I would be good with Navy's coach, as long as we got a team that gritty and disciplined. He could even modify the offense some toward a more balanced attack, but I'd love to watch that style of football.

Most, I suspect, would not be in favor of it though.

A meth mouth ***** is never hot and if you don't know who the players are then it's only your fault to be upset about it . Start with Mitch , he's a Christian and even the smallest amount of reasoning would tell you that he's not going to hire someone like that . UK in my opinion is also a conservative school and won't take a chance on a coach like that . It's irrelevant what Petrino wanted and it was too easy to see that he would never be hired . I didn't even mention the BCG fiasco that UK got burned by , with all of that there is no reason for anybody to have entertained the idea that BP would have been hired .

I know that nothing excites the BBN (and brings the basketball fans to the football boards) more than the possibility of firing/hiring a football coach, but the absolute best scenario is for this team (and coaching staff) is to some way win six games and get to a bowl. Keeping Stoops because the team (and he) is improving is a win for everyone that really cares about this program.
