A major step toward an 8-4 record would be defeating Mississippi State in Starkville. Do that, and take care of business against UF, Mizzou at home and Vandy on the road, all of which we should be favored in, and you get 8-4, if we also beat all non-conference opponents, even with losses to USCe, UT, Bama and UGA.

We”re not losing to Coach Steamer and USCjr next year. Barring major injuries of course. 9-3, Possibly 10-2 is my prediction for next year.
Why would you say that?

Soundly whooped us last year in our house. They lose their OC and sound like Rattler may be leaving which is a loss if they all unfold

8-4 is a great season for Kentucky. Especially in a year where we play UGA and Alabama. That means you can only lose 2 more games. If we go 9-3 or 10-2 next year, they should begin construction on the Mark Stoops statue.
No it used to be a great season but that bar has been raised and we were told by Stoops himself to expect better !

Best case scenario: beat UF, SC, Miss St, Vandy, Missouri, and out of conference teams. Losses against TN, GA and AL. The TN game is at home but they are on the rise, we play like poop against them and it’s after a bye week which means we again will play like hot garbage.

If we're healthy going into the UT game, coming of a open date, I think we take care of business, especiasly if Coen is back. Our history on defense says, if we can score over 24 points we usually win. I look for our defense to be really good and our offense greatly improved. Usually in any given year your going to win one no one figured and lose one everyone thought you'd win. I think going into GA. we should be 5-0, so you never know what happens. We could end up at 10-2 but anything 8 wins or better with our schedule would be a really good year.

It’s still a great season. I’m glad he doesn’t settle for 8-4 but I’ll never take it for granted. We had people talking about firing him at 7-5 this year which is insanity.

7-5 would be a good year with next year's schedule. 8-4 would be a very good year. Anything above that would be GREAT considering that Georgia, Alabama, and UT are all on the schedule.

Otherwise:

-UF is a wildcard. Will they stink again? The pressure is on Napier.
-Vandy is Vandy, but they beat us here. First SEC road game, they should have our full attention.
-USCe is a total wildcard. They're losing tons of players to the portal, but they have momentum after beating CU and UT. Who knows that kind of team they have.
-MSU who knows? Leach died (RIP) so the DC is their new HC. This would appear to be a good time to break the Starkville losing streak.
-UL will improve under brohm. I would think we would still have a talent advantage. A lot depends on their defense and who is playing QB.

Predicting next year's record is a real crapshoot at this point.

Was I happy with He and his staffs coaching this year ? No ,,,only a moron would want him fired for this season but if it happened a few seasons in a row his seat might get a little hot with the money he is making !

We signed a top 15 class last year. So we’re a year ahead. Lol.

I don’t think Beamer is a good coach. I know he beat us(without Levis), UT, and Clemson this year, but he has to do it again before I say he and USC have arrived .

They were a bad football team most of last year, caught fire at the end, but still got beat by Missouri at home in the the middle of their hot streak.

They lost their embattled OC this offseason, which made a lot of USC fans happy….for a minute….until they saw who Coach Viper Shades hired. They lost players like Lloyd and Bell to the portal that had a lot of people scratching their heads. You shouldn’t lose players like that if you’re a program on the rise.

Nah, Beamer has to do more b4 I say they're better than us.

It’s a tough schedule next year, 8-4 would be the minimum for me. Anything after that is icing on the cake. Anything worse than that would be disappointing

Eh I feel like stoops seat is ice cold. I feel scangs red zone play calling attributed to atleast 2 and maybe even 3 losses this year.

It won’t be like that next year. LC had the best success rate in the SEC in his one year with Wandale. I love Wandale but comparatively we are in much much better shape overall than his year.

If we pay our coach $9M a year and still aren’t allowed to expect 8 wins, I don’t know what we’re doing. No, it doesn’t mean fire him if he doesn’t get there. But if you’re paid top 6 money nationally, don’t tell me 7 wins is good enough.

Just shows how low the expectations are for the program still.

I’m not accusing Mitch Barnhart of being a genius or looking ten years down the road but I do think it lays the groundwork to get a “bigger” named coach when Stoopsy’s time is up. Shows we’ve got the dough!

That would be 1.28mil per win, lol. As spending goes up I don’t understand why our expectations shouldn’t rise as well. If I get a raise at work, I’m certainly expected to produce better results.

Not sure what paying Mark Stoops $9mil/year has to do with hiring another coach in 10 years.

They had no business beating us this year. We had no OC, which was very evident. In addition, they’re losing a lot of their starters to the Portal

Find me a program in a major conference that gets 8 wins every year not named Ohio State, Alabama or Georgia.

No team does. Even those teams have had the rare down season. The difference is 8 and 4 is terrible for them but good for UK.

I think some just wonder why do we pay top 6 money for never getting top 6 results and we never will get close to top 6 results. Mitch is an idiot though and outbid himself with these goofy contracts though.

This is the answer. I think Stoops is a good recruiter and decent coach, but anyone who thinks we can’t get anyone else while paying $9mil/year is out to lunch.

I get that we’ve sucked in the past, but UK has never invested this much money in football.

All of this great recruiting news means nothing unless the Oline is totally revamped. Leary signing means nothing if the Oline doesn't give him time to throw. The same is said for the running back from vandy, if they don't open holes, his signing was useless. The cats had top tier skill positions but had a bottom dweller Oline.

9 wins is a minimum next season as far as I can see it. Yes I thought the same thing this season and believe we would’ve with a healthy Levis. What say ye Hack? I sure don’t believe USC will beat us again this season. They got a gift from us this season and we’ll be ready for payback.

Yes. Should be a good game.

I think we beat Vandy and South Carolina on the road, and Mizzou at home and UF at home. The Florida game, likely won’t be the toughest of these 4.

I suspect U of L takes a step or two back: that Top 30 defense lost a lot of seniors, and their offensive production is gone, so that is 5 wins.

We should beat our other 3 OOC opponents, handily. That is 8 wins.

The “easiest” route to a ninth win is Mississippi State in Starkville.

UT and Bama at home are certainly possibilities, but we won’t be favored in either.

Georgia in Athens will be very unlikely.

I think our regular season minimum is 8 wins, with 10 being possible.
