2019 WVU roster under Neal Brown his first at WVU

2021 contributors that Neal Brown inherited when he became WVU’s coach:

QB Jarret Doege with a 143 QB rating so far in 2021

Leading rush Leddie Brown 497 rushing/receiving yards so far in 2021

Cupboard was “bare” when Neal Brown came to WVU.

Let the numbers do the talking.

When Neal Brown walked onto campus, based on the 2019 roster:

Isaiah Esdale 223 receiving yards so far in 2021

Winston Wright 278 receiving yards so far in 2021

Brice Ford-Wheaton 219 receiving yards so far in 2021

Sean Ryan 148 receiving yards so far in 2021

That’s 1,400 yards of the 2021 offense after only 5 games or a pace of 3,360 yards for the season.

And the best red zone defense in America?

10 to 25 tackles apiece by Josh Chandler, Sean Mahone, Alonzo Addae, Nicktroy Fortune, Extree Loe, Jared Barlett

“Cupboard was bare?” Hah!

Look, I love my alma mater, but blaming the current coach’s 2-3 record on the previous coach’s recruiting doesn’t wash no matter how often it’s repeated by those who don’t listen to the numbers.

Brice Ford-Wheaton doesn't play for WVU

There is Bryce Ford-Wheaton on the Roster who played 1 game in 2018. (2019 no experience)

Wiston Wright Frehsman in 2019

Isaiah Esdale Freshman 2019

Sean Ryan Freshman 2019

Sam James 2018 (4 games)

TJ Simmons 2017 - Most experienced WR on the team in 2019 was a freshman in 2018 graduated

WR lead the nation in dropped passes.

8 Freshman on the OL / 6 sophomores / 5 Juniors / 2 Seniors (yeah boy so much experience)

16 Freshman on the 2 deep.

Tell us again how WVU had experience or talent in 2019

Leddie Brown 2018 freshman 91 carries 458 yards

NO QB in January 2019 and then 2 transfers that have flopped. Wsn't that long ago you and some cronies were begging for Doege to be the man. You're reaping what you begged for.

4 players booted due to academic fraud.

You shouldn't post until you know what your talking about

What Neal Brown needs to do, so anyone can understand, despite the players:

Win Games

SOMETIMES THE SIMPLEST STATEMENT MAKES THE MOST SENSE. STOP BOTCHING KEY PLAYS AT THE WORST POSSIBLE TIMES AND THIS TEAM COULD GO ON A WINNING STREAK. LOSING BY 3, 3 AND 6 DOES NOT MAKE YOU THE WORST POWER-5 TEAM IN AMERICA! MAKES YOU A TEAM THAT IS DANGEROUS IF THE OFFENSE CAN GET OUT OF ITS OWN WAY! STARTING, I HOPE, AT NOON TODAY BY WHACKING THE BEARS IN WACO!

WVU’s leading rusher against Baylor was a seldom-used backup QB who had 55 yards in 10 carries. The REST OF THE TEAM had 35 yards for the game!

Oh, and Greene threw for 35 passing yards.

So Green accounted for 90 yards of WVU’s 362 yards while playing, what, 8 or 10 minutes at most?

What the hell is wrong with this picture?

This is a poor excuse. Any coach worth anything turns that around in year 2 and by year three his system is working. We are so bad that if we had a GOOD team Leddie Brown - arguably our best player anywhere would be THIRD STRING. That is how bad this team is. I keep hearing Brown is great at recruiting, well so far we haven't seen it. He is just not a fit for WVU and he CANNOT coach at this level.

Maybe you should call him on date night.

Take a long look at the recruiting ratings for the players Brown inherited. Ill say it again, it was one of the worst rosters in the past 20+ years from a Ratings & Experience perspective.

How many REdshirt & True Freshmen did Brown rely on? It was one of the youngest teams in all of D1 that year, not only were they young, but the recruiting ratings were also not good.

Im not shitting on the players, just being realistic with the mess Brown walked into when he was hired.

WVU has never been a program that can win playing mostly Fresh or Soph. The reason why Brown is still playing a lot of Fresh & Soph is because the talent hes been recruiting in the 2020 & 2021 classes were better, or offered far higher upside then the upperclassmen, or who would have been upperclassmen.

I think we can all agree, relative to the team talent & experience, this is the worst game we have experienced under Neal Brown.

IT was a disaster.

I dont think I ever saw a team so close to being 1 -4 or 5 - 0 (Before today)... However todays result, def makes you lean the other way.

This team has serious limitations & is very young. On the upside, they are talented, we just gotta give them time..

I will say, I do hope Brown puts a serious effort into creating schemes specific for Greene, and give him the reigns. At least itll help make next year's starting point a little further along..
