I made this account on March 21, 2008.

Billy Gillispie had just finished his first season at UK with a loss to Marquette in the NCAA Tournament.

DC's Hellblazer had recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Eliot Spitzer had just resigned as Governor of New York.

The 2007-2008 Writer's Guild of America strike had just ended.

NASA was discovering ice on Mars.

Heath Ledger, Roy Scheider, Gary Gygax, William F. Buckley, the Maharishi Yogi, Bobby Fischer, and Arthur C. Clarke had all recently passed away. Charlton Heston only had a few weeks to live.

Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Step Brothers, and The Dark Knight were all close to release in theaters.

None of that seems like long ago. :/

This site has undergone several ownership and name changes over the years. I’ve been here since the first one, sometime around ‘96 or ‘97. We were pretty good at the time, but amazingly have won only two championships in the 24 years I’ve been a member here — and only one in the last 22 years. It’s time for another.

Made an account a week or so after losing to UCONN in the tourney in 06. Lurked for years before that.

Same here. Joined when Original site first came online. Remember at one point had re join or something and loss old Thread count and to re apply to get old user name

I recall one change occurred when AllianceSports.com merged with or was bought out by Rivals.com. 2003 or so?

I have been here in some form or fashion since about 1998. I think this was the original KSR (Kentucky Sports Report) then became Cats Pause. I still call it CatsPause to this day.

Here are some names from the past I remember. Sadly some are no longer with us.

That's when my memories of this board first start, although I don't really remember when exactly I first started posting. I remember making a Xanga post (Xanga!) after reading on here about this big man recruit named Randolph Morris and how Kentucky was going to have the #1 recruiting class in the nation. Kentucky was back! And I had the inside scoop.

I remember all of them and the only one that didn’t suck was Mike Brent.

Fall 2001- last semester of my UK career, joined while trying not to study at WT Young. UK would lose to WKU a week or two later and I would get into an argument with Bret Bearup about Saul Smith.

I lurked and read the board for a couple of years. I was subscribed to the print version of Cata Pause, because living in NC. It was the only way to keep up with UK basketball. Then Tubby decided to stop recruiting and started the plow offense , I joined to express my opinions. And that is the rest of the story.

Andy Pop Cat used to fill up the FB Recruiting board. YouKay was a frequency poster in years gone by.

I first visited on a dial up connection and would read all the recruiting rumors. Didn't come here until mid 2000s I guess. I've used several different names so far and considering another.
