What was with Iowa getting a warning and NU a Penalty for the same thing?

It sure looked bizzarre for Iowa to get a sideline warning and then not that much later for the Northwestern coach's stepping onto the field to result in a substantial penalty that for all practical purposes may well have changed the outcome of the game - at least that was my take from post game comments of our coach as he personally took full responsibility for the loss as impliedly consequent from the resulting penalty.

I don’t like to blame the officials. Ever.

But that was some terrible officiating last night. The unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after the ignored endzone interference was two awful calls on the same play.

And to start that drive, the official called a bizarre fair catch on the KO return starting our O at the 3.

Just bizarre. And it impacted the outcome of the game in a big way.

It's like the Gonzaga game - who knows what would've happened if the didn't call that technical?
