Duke just signed O'Connell. So that's one.

Here are the top predictions from 247

100%
PF Wendell Carter
SF Kevin Knox
SG Gary Trent

93%
PF Mohamed Bamba

80%
PG Quade Green

50%
SF Jermaine Samuels

All the other offers show some other school in the lead.

Are there enough scholarships for all of them?

Who do you want most and who do you think will sign?

I think Green, Carter and Trent sign with Duke. Samuels committed to Nova. Still up in the air with Bamba and Knox.

Trent, Carter, O'Connell, Green, Tucker, Bamba (conditionally)

Mix that with the guys presumably staying and that should make Duke a threat for two banner type seasons.

There's a SF named Jordan Tucker who is listed by 247 as a possible Duke target. Ranked #48. Maybe he meant that Tucker.

That's him. And to answer your question, yes Green really reminds me of at least what we were thinking Quinn would be coming in, which is a strict, heady floor leader. Quinn became most of that later, but I think Green will get it earlier.

Tucker is a solid player. He's a 4 star SF thst can really shoot the ball from 3 point land and he has a very good mid range game. He has good size at 6-7 200 and has a great motor and work ethic.
He's a player that would thrive at Duke and blossom as a player. Players like Javin and Alex are truly Program game changers bc they stay and represent what development and Sr leadership is all about. I think Tucker fits right in with those guys.

I imagine he's just coming up on Duke's radar as it seems per 247 that other schools lead for him?

Duke has been in contact for a while. First noticed last AAU season, really started showing interest this AAU season. He had an inconsistent summer, but when he's good, he's really damn good.

Gotcha; I'm fine with Duke getting these 3-4 year guys, that's how you keep a program steady. I figure there might only be 5 departures after this year unless one of bolden or Jackson blows up, so there will be a lot of depth next year

What other bigs are Duke looking at should Bolden go pro and they miss out Bamba? I'm not counting Deng Gak since I'm hearing the Kansas rumblings

Bamba more than likely is a late decision, so we aren't shopping, but there's an Aussie center named Jacob Epperson and then you still have Bruno Fernando who was being watched but there's been no real movement.

I don't count Gak anymore either.

Also don't forget (stepping outside of the bigs category), technically, and I say that as non-sarcastically as I can with a straight face, Troy Brown, DeAndre Ayton and Tre Waters still have offers. I think I kept a straight face through that.

Show, I've been around for a long time just used to have a Prem acct but with I don't have the extra $ so I'm on here more often.

On a side note, I am a college guidance & placement director for HS aged kids in California so I get lots of info but I cant post it all on here out of respect for players, their families and the college programs.

Back to the class for Duke, a 7 player class is realistic and I strongly believe that the Duke staff will mix this class with OAD players and 3-4 year players. What some don't realize is the 3-4 year guys that Duke are getting are very talented players and would be program changers on other teams. Javin and Alex (I'll also say Tucker if he comes) will be great players bc of everything they bring to the table. Players don't have to have the OAD mentality or potential to be stud players.

I also think a 6-7 class is reasonable. Matt, Amile, Grayson, Harry, and Jayson are all expected to be gone. And between Bolden and Jackson, I think you can expect at least one more OAD - and then there's the possibility of Obi retiring/graduating and/or Vrank transferring. The turnover will be substantial next year.

2017 Class: Green, Trent Jr, O'Connell, Tucker, Bamba, Carter

Returning players: Jackson, Kennard, White, DeLaurier, Jeter, Vrankovic

PG- Green
2G- Trent Jr
Wing G/F- Alex
3-Tucker
4/5- Carter
5- Bamba
I just don't get the feeling that Bamba comes to Duke. Just that gut feeling.

If Duke has a good season I do not expect Bolden or Jackson back.

Returning
Luke-1/2/3
Javin, 4/5
Jeter, 5
White, ?
Vrank, 5

That roster could use another versatile 4. Who knows maybe that's Jack White. But if Bamba doesn't come to Duke I could easily see a 3/4 type player being added by the staff.

I just recently checked the crystal ball predictions for Quade Green and noticed that Syracuse has the lead in his predictions. Wondering if anybody had any insight because I was pretty positive that Green would ultimately sign with Duke.

So when do we expect some of these guys to verbally commit? I know most have not even taken visits. I'm just so impatient when it comes to this. OFC
