Would love to pull a bit further away from Duke in BB....I think a FB championship would do much more for us.

I don't know about BBN but the football championship would be huge for me. I have been to just about every home game since 1975 and quite a few of the away games. Been to all but 1 bowl game. I have enjoyed the hell out of the basketball championships but my heart has always been on the roller coaster that we call UK football.

Why not both??

Seriously, I'll take the FB championship first, followed by the BB championship three months later.

Easy one - Football. The roof would come off this place if we went to a New Year's Day bowl much less a championship game.

Chumps....I agree we can win in football. I love UK football, I think of the 2007 team, with Woodson at the helm...that should have gone at least 10-2 if not 11-1 under Brooks

The 2007 team had several players I would put in the elite category but they did not have a lot of depth behind them. That's why MSU was able to knock us off after we beat #1 LSU and took Florida to the mat. In college football, but especially this conference you have to have good depth to get through a season.

What I wonder about is if UK did become a major player in college football - win the SEC east, or at least put together back to back major bowl appears how would it change the complexion of the fan base in the state? I'm sure round ball would still have enormous support, but football would IMO start to see similar numbers and enthusiasm.

I never realized it until I live outside the state but basketball and football are not viewed equally by most people. Football has probably 4 - 5 times the fan base size. To be be honest basketball is more of a regional sport popular in certain pockets of the country, but football is more the national sport. A football championship is a much, much bigger prize than a basketball national championship.

I'd take a first Saturday in December appearance in Atlanta even over anything else.

Football. In fact, I'd choose being bowl eligible every year over ever winning another bball championship.

A better question would be 3 basketball championships vs. 1 football championship

Football has gave us nothing. Basketball lets get 9.

Football has given about as much as UK has given it-------actually a huge amount more money wise, just not on the field. That seems to have changed, someone got woke up, but the COA imbalance is still ridiculous, both money wise and competing wise. Two city schools less than a hundred miles away can give their players (LEGALLY) about $2,000 more a year than we do.

Don't try to tell me that won't be the difference in a lot of commits decision.

Justs stupid with the money involved in football, IMO.

I'm a huge hoops fan. But I'd take football. It would be mass hysteria in the Commonwealth should that ever happen.

As a UK who has lived in Alabama since 1978 I would cream my drawers if we were to win a FB championship.

Id trade all the basketball hoopla we've ever had for football in a second.

I love both, but I have waited my entire life to see UK Football win an SEC Championship.

I would take a UK Football National Championship in a heartbeat.

Ahhh, it wouldn't be a year in the Lair without this post popping up again and again.

And as always, football wins on a football board.

Football any day of the week. The football hating basketball only fans would all off themselves as well. Sounds like a win win to me. Oh happy days
