Starting my third glass of . Wife cooked some ribs in the pressure cooker, and I finished them on the grill.

Delicious.

Out at pressure cooked ribs!
I don't blame you, but I will say they taste great after being finished on the grill. I don't have the patience to smoke them on the grill from the get go.

More importantly though, you never said what you were drinking...

I am all about whiskey/bourbons.

There are some bourbons I like. And I know most of those are sour mash. But Jack actually tastes sour to me. I just don't like it. I'm not sure what the difference is in their process that does that. I shouldn't have been so broad.

Jack is made just like bourbons but it is made in TN so it is a whiskey.

That's not how it works. Location doesn't matter.
All I am saying is most people in Kentucky disagree vehemently with this statement. Just saying. Kentucky is the birthplace and undisputed leader in bourbon. I admit, I picked up a little of their attitude. I laugh when I see Crown Royal. A Canadian bourbon.

4 roses is my favorite bourbon.

Drinking a local Virginia beer called Orange Whip from the Mad Fox brewery while watching the Osu v Kansas game. It is my favorite beer ... of all time! It is a smooth citra hopped IPA, that is not too hoppy and has an orange creamiscle flavor. You can only buy it at the brewery/restaurant and straight out of the tap it is darn near magical. I am sipping from a growler pour which is about 90% as good.

Bells two heart is one of my favorite commercial micro-brew (or whatever term they are using nowadays) beers. There is another local Virginia brewery called Lost Rhino and they have an amazing IPA called Face plant. Another good IPA is called Tramp stamp by Clown shoes.

There's some really good breweries in those distant northern VA burbs. Lost Rhino is good. Love Ocelot, and Adroit Theory blew my mind--sister and I got a private tasting there one afternoon just because we asked nicely.

Guinness and Power's Irish Whiskey.

Went to a new restaurant a friend opened yesterday.

It's called BaCoN (Breaking Bad style use of periodic table elements).

All bacon, all the time.

I had a bacon sampler (hog jowl bacon, deep smoke bacon, spicy bacon, shoulder bacon, bacon jam, and pecan praline candied bacon)....bacon wrapped fresh jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese, pork belly Mac and cheese for an entree....bacon ice cream and bacon cheesecake.

The defibrillator will be coming out later.

Oklahoma City.

7523 N. May.

The chef and owner is Sean Cummings. He used to have a fabulous Irish pub there, but the landlord got crappy over St. Patrick's day crowds and wouldn't re-lease the spot to him (or his wife...who has a great adjoining Italian restaurant on site) unless he did a different concept.

I managed to get a hold of a bottle of this today:

Been very hard to find for months now. I was out at lunch and stopped into my #3 liquor store that is close to the office, just to check out if they had anything new, not even really planning on buying anything necessarily. I was just about to leave after checking out their whiskeys. A lady working there asked if I'd found everything all right. On a lark I asked if she knew when they'd ever be getting any more Blanton's. She said, she wasn't sure because it has been so strictly allocated. I said, "I know, I haven't been able to find it."

She said she didn't know if they had any but she'd check in the back, but was pretty sure they were out. Area #1 checked: no dice. I was about to thank her for her trouble, when she said "hold on, I've got one more spot to look." Score for the Marshal!

Forgot to add: it was their last bottle, or so she said.
