Absolutely nothing. Click bait.

We have a whole fleet of those things, guarantee we have a few of them in the air at all times.

I'd rather my nuclear-capable plans only get in the air when we are actually involved in nuclear war. No need to be prepared ...

Unless things changed since I got out of the Air Force in 95, this was the Doomsday Plane.

They were the planes I worked on at Offutt AFB in NE. I believe they took on other responsibilities though like working with FEMA since they are basically mobile command posts.

My guess, Trump asked for a test flight of them to make sure they were in shape so he can launch all the nukes on January, 21st. Hug your kids, tell your wife (or life partner) you love them, and kiss your *** goodbye.

When Grissom AFB was open they used to have a plane on ready alert you could see from the road
Was an older plane 30 years ago, forget what type

Yup that was one of ours. That was one of the bases we had planes at while on alert. I wasn't part of an alert crew, but i did get to go to Grissom once on one of our planes when they were opening up a new alert facility there. Grissom is the base i wanted to be stationed at since it was just a couple hours from home.

They also had a plane at Andrews AFB at times. Most of the time the majority of our planes were operating out of Offutt AFB. Our planes always were following the President around. I believe it was President Clinton who visited somewhere near our base (in Iowa I think) and Air Force One was parked at our base in one of our spots. So I got to see it up close (about 100 ft away). The Marine One helicopter and some private jet were also there and parked in our hangar. That was probably the coolest thing I saw during my time in.

Maybe a response to Castro kicking the bucket.

My brother worked for the railroad. Said B-52's would fly over the tracks and simulate bombing runs with their bomb bay doors open.
