Mitchell finally looking like Mitchell great play by Owen Riddle I figured it would be a running clock by now but it’s tied good job boys keep it up season just started a lot of games left Go Mitchell!!!!!!
Good half Mountaineers still a half left I want to see Riddle running the ball more throwing it less if the defense steps up still got a chance let’s go boys!!!!!!
Mitchell playing really hard , just got cut down on mistakes.
Based on the previous games, Mitchell has to run the ball every play. The QB throws it more to the other team more than I’ve ever seen. That is shocking to me cause I expected him to be a really good QB. This is the worst Mitchell team since 2008
They are coming together whatever happens tonight this is a different team than the last few weeks my sons senior year was 21 they played us off they got better and came together a little more every week went to Chapel hill and honestly shouldn’t have made it past Thomasville but they did I like what I’m seeing tonight let’s go boys!!!!!!!
What do u know about Mitchell football? My son played in the 2021 1a state championship they are getting better and came rebuilding year for us and a tough schedule what was so bat about 2008? Everyone was good that year Mitchell will finish ok and be stout next year
I will say this Owen Riddle is a great athlete but something is off I don’t know if he has an injured elbow or shoulder I believe I would try another qb and put Owen at tight end and throw screens to him I think it would open up our offense just my 2 cents
I’ve watched and supported the team for many years. I expected this group to play much better. Hendo is down and Robbinsville is way down from previous years.
The whole west is down from what I have seen we definitely need to work on defense first and foremost then gotta figure out something at the qb position he is just not accurate passing I think he could be an all conference receiver or tight end I don’t know if they have anybody good enough to take over rebuilding year but they will bounce back
We have to figure out the qb position to be competitive I honestly don’t think we have anybody better than Owen maybe we go back to a wing t read option or something spread ain’t working passing game not working with this group but still best first half in a while they have to learn how to finish
It was a well executed game by Owen playing keep away in the second half holding the ball for 17 of the 24 min Polk finished the game with 305 total yards Owen with 200 but they pulled out the win coaching comes into question at polk second time this year they have had more total yards and come up short on score board both games special teams played big roll in outcome and 9 penalties for 89 yards is excessive I've watch Fry coach for the last 3 years he makes zero and I mean zero in game adjustments and when the games on the line his play calling comes into question 1st and 10 on the 20 with 44 seconds left and a timeout and you call a passing play ok but your best player who 252 total yards is completely out of the play standing in back field to block??? I'm giving him the ball 10 out of 10 times in that position if Owen stops him then time out but that play did nothing qb gets stopped at the line of scrimmage wasted timeout didn't even give your workhorse a chance then follow that up by deciding kick with starting snapper out of the game and don't get backup long snapper in the game leading to the delay of game to make the kick even longer then act surprised when the back up snaps high cause he never practiced snapping all week come on now the backups need to practice what there gonna be asked to do I know the players make mistakes and they need to preform but year after year its the same thing with this coach he runs his starters in the ground doesn't help develop the players in his program makes zero adjustments in game its not hard to see why they have struggled in recent years and why he has a hard time getting kids out to play for him he's quick to blame players for there mistakes I think its time to look in the mirror I little bit coach.
If memory serves me right your coach handed off to the running back after that play you speak of and he was dropped at the line of scrimmage and he had to take his timeout. Also the qb scrambling for 31 yards set that up for you. I think your coach is pretty good from what I can tell. He has a great o line and a rb. Not much else. He is making the best of him in my opinion. The total yards never won a game. The INT gave Owen their second possession with only 25 yards to go. Their 3rd possession came as the half would come to an end and seemed content with not trying too hard to make something happen. Owen has played ball control all year. They have had 10 minute drives etc this year. It’s their style so I wasn’t surprised by that. Both Owen and Polk are improved over the last few years and that’s due to coaching. I know rs central folks trashed our coach but I think we have a great one and our kids love him and I believe he wants to be at Owen which we haven’t had since Kenny Ford. Things are looking up to me

Yes and young. Last night even younger because we had a junior hurt last week and he was replaced with a freshmen and we have 2 sophomores starting on the line as well
Last 4 plays from 44 second mark on were pass scramble with #4 in backfield blocking time out 30 seconds to go. Pass play scramble stopped at 18. Hurry to line spike 10 seconds left. Then delay of game penalty and the botched snap. Yes qb scrambled for the big gane to the 50 but the play that got us to the 20 #4 plus the face mask penalty my point is why not give it to your best with the game on the line you have road that horse all day but he gets zero touches last 44 seconds with one timeout in the bag. Plus this is just one example of what I've seen over the last few years which leads to my previous post. Taking nothing away from Owen actually im saying your coach flat out out coached ours hands down you could see it coming Owen's last drive started little over 8 min to go and they executed perfectly for the most part chewed clock down to a little over a min after the field goal then booted kickoff out of the end zone when guess who was back to return that kickoff for the first time in the game thats right #4 all excellent coaching decisions by Owen.
I would have liked to have seen us score a td at the end. If not for the fumble we recovered, we probably would have but that put us behind the sticks. Had we scored a td there you would have had virtually no time left in the game because we would have chewed up even more of the time and had more yards
Agreed thats why I said almost perfectly but that fumbled pitch wasn't on the coach his play calling was spot on players make mistakes from time to time but his play calling had them in the right position with the game on the line. The interception polk threw early in the game was a player mistake reciever was open qb just over threw him no knock on the coaching at that point but with the game on the line I don't feel like the polk coach gave his players the best opportunity with his play calling at the end.
We were expecting this year's team a couple years ago to be really good because of their undefeated JV season. But a couple things. One some of the really good players quit. I won't say who but on in particular who's a great athlete apparently had issues with the coaches and took some others with him. Two as far as the QB they should have played him last year and put the other QB at RB or something because now he lost a year of experience and it's showing. I believe he's a really good athlete but that year hurt plus he's not had the best protection and those missing skilled players it puts a lot on him.
