Just read an article that the SEC presidents and counselors we'll have a vote on May 22nd to determine when student-athletes can return to campus.
The conjecture is it could happen in the middle of June

Australia only having 9 total Corona cases right now is supposed to be a good indicator that there won't be a 2nd wave. Fingers crossed.
First time I’ve heard that. I know the wife told me that New Zealand has very few cases. My lead in Elmsford, New York when I was 19 (back in 2000), now lives in New Zealand. He’s originally from South America.

I should’ve taken him up on his offer and went overseas to work back then. They were offering a six figure bonus just to go for a couple years. Probably could’ve knocked down close to $400,000 in two years time. I was just young and dumb and never ended up going. What a dumbass!

19 with six figures and living in another country? Sheesh.

Yeah. I was doing real well working here in the States until 9/11 happened. After that, it slowed down quite a bit for awhile. I’ve done the out of town thing off and on since.

In 2013, I got certified to do 4G LTE, both the GSM and CDMA technologies, for Ericsson (which is the equipment I started out doing in 2000). I was certified for all the big 4: Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T Mobile - as well as US Cellular. Then I got with my wife in late 2013, and have stuck around here in Kentucky since 2014.

I’ve been offered some sweet gigs to do the new 5G recently. I’m just not sure I wanna go do the out of town thing again. I would either have to leave my family or drag them with me. The wife and I have kicked the idea around some. If the right opportunity comes along, we’ll go. Until then, I’ll work here locally.

Lol, Australia currently has 590 active cases. They have 18 people currently listed as in critical/serious condition.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/australia/

I think you may have seen the numer of cases they have added for today so far and gotten mixed up.

China, South Korea, Germany and others are showing signs of a 2nd wave. Hopefully we notice this and do something to mitigate it.

My bad. I did mean new cases. Yeah, 9 new cases in all of Australia. That's a lot of new cases in a day for all of Australia, isn't it there bud?

It's pretty eye opening how low they have it going....which I never heard until you just posted. They only have 25M people (close to size of Texas) but it looks so great. Fingers crossed we can come close to their success and avoid pain and suffering for so many

Lol, so somone pointed out your mistake, so you decide to belittle. How cute!

You should probably know, that reported number isn't finalized for the day. It's just a representation of the data they have been able to gather from the different regions for that point. Since much of Australia is remote, that number can lag what is factually happening in real time.

It's pretty on par with their overall numbers. AUS as a whole has done better than most countries in their response. I which our leadership had the same level of competence in handling this pandemic.

However, there is a big difference in 9 overall active cases you were parading as fact vs the reality of 590 currently active cases. Almost 70 times more to be exact. I am just providing you with factual data, no need to get upset over someone pointing out your comprehension problem. ;)

His numers aren't accurate. Take the number 9 and times it by 65. Then you will have the accurate number of ongoing cases in Australia.

No pal, your reply was smarmy, just like this one is. Just pointing that out. You pointed out my innocent mistake in a smart alley way and are going further with your smarmy little attitude in this post, so I'm pointing that out. Sounds like you don't like that. Sux for you.

It's 9 new cases yesterday, my error. 9 new cases in all of Australia is small. You know it and so do I and anybody with half a brain.

You would think someone with half a brain would know the difference in daily total and active total. Yet, here we are...

Do you feel taller now?
No, just very concerned about the potential lack of reading comprehension and writing being taught in our school systems.

You're making a fool of yourself. I'm gonna move on now since you're nobody to me. Good luck finding the next poster that will listen to you tell tell them how smart you think you are. Feel bad for you man. Try getting laid.

I hadn’t heard this.
I suspect this decision will happen on a school by school basis.

I read his post and figured out he was talking 9 new cases in the latest day....but his point is still 100% valid that the country has a crazy low rate of reported virus. There was no need to be a jerk about it.
I agree, they are doing very well. I even mentioned that I wish we were doing that well. Nor was I being a jerk about it initially. I pointed out the error and mentioned where I thought he might be getting that confused and mentioned countries that were showing a 2nd wave. He got offended somehow and decided to belittle me in his response. So, I opted to drop to his intellectual and emotional level in my replies.

What kind of work do you do with it?
I don’t do it currently, I work here locally now. I used to install, troubleshoot and integrate 2G, 3G and 4G LTE. I also did co locate and core (central office) install/test and turn up work. When I very first started, I did tower construction and lines and antennas, with my uncle, back in 1999. Then, in 2000, I started building Ericsson switches. In 2001, is when I started doing the RAN (radio, cell site) work.

Nice! I worked for ATT (bellsouth) doing engineering when they were transitioning from 3 to 4g and when they were upgrading to fiber lines.

Yeah, ATT was the last company I contracted for, in Alabama. That was actually right when I got with my wife. I was installing servers for ATT/Bluestream. I’ll say, ATT is so damn picky and hard to work for, compared to say, Verizon.

EDIT: That’s crazy, you’re actually form Birmingham, Alabama. Lol

Nothing is stopping anyone from meeting. I'm pretty sure the players and coaches haven't stopped communicating.
