Tomorrow starts my mid March vacation so tonight I'm shopping for various garbage food for the air fryer such as jalapeno poppers, mac and cheese bites, Doritos and Tony Soprano sandwich meats, red peppers, mozzarella, provolone, and pretzel buns. Hey, the pretzel bun allows me to shove more stuff in my sandwich, don't judge.

However tomorrow i need to pick up some gun stuff so I'm wondering when we get a break in the action? App I mean, maybe 2,3 o'clock? the trip is like 2 hours out of my day.

The first round usually goes until close to 3:30pm, so, you have a break between 3:30 and and 7:00.

I'd like to help, but last year I was already several deep and it only continued between sessions. Why they decided to interview me for the news, I haven't a clue. But the shocked faces of the men behind me that I made it back Friday morning was well worth it.

Thanks to everyone who posted info on the schedule and TV options. OK - now I need some advice from the board. What is the best way to dissuade your wife from insisting you stop watching TV and attend to honey do's that are not urgent and can easily be addressed one or two weeks later?

You need to let her know how important these three days are to you. It is just completely known that I won't be available over these three days. Lucky for me, she likes wrestling and comes down and watches it with me/us.

Ask her which one she would like you to do TODAY! Then you can coast until Sunday!

That gets me into a trap! If I say something like that, she'll ask me what is more important, wrestling or her. (Of course we all know the answer.) I need something more creative where she won't have an easy rebuttal.

I’ve shared this before - but you got to plan early. I met my wife in 1980 and our first official date was to the Wilkes Open. A wrestling tournament for a first date? Yes! If she could put up with that, I may have found something. It’ll be 45 years married this August. Get your priorities in order.

Started going on a ‘Guy Thing’ in 1994, which just happened to be the Big 10 Tournament @ Indiana. Almost ran into Bob Knight, he was a Big dude. There's been anywhere from two of us to 14 at these guy things. Met numerous ‘personalities' in the sport over the years, DT’s dad, Mike Evans' mom (not sure if she was impressed with me, but had a nice discussion), Andrew Howe’s dad, Mike Kemmerer (while he was at 157), Tervel, Logan Steiber after his fourth... Been to a number of serious Duals, Big 10’s, NCAA tournaments - and now there will be just the three of us at my house around the screen, ‘watching wrestling until my eyes bleed’ (wife’s language, not mine). She’s making homemade crab rangoon for a snack Saturday between sessions. Still on my bucket list is attending Ok State dual, and now maybe PSU will be the opponent…

Young men, get your priorities in order and the season (and tournaments) will go much smoother. Go Lions!

My wife is all in for me as in I have a pass to watch. She does not care, but will root for the lads for me after she gets home, maybe. I can grease the wheels by picking a pizza when I run my errand.

You should have about a 3 hour or so break late afternoon, but maybe budget some time in there for CPR.

Rookie mistake, ask her if she thinks her sister has lost weight?

Enjoyed the comment about taking your wife to wrestling on first date. Brought back memories. One of my first dates with my wife of 39 years was a Penn State football game. I told her after the game we would go downtown to get something to eat. Just before going into the establishment for nourishment I told her "Make sure your shoes are tied tight, because the floor is going to be sticky" We proceeded to enter the Skeller.😏

My wife is 100% on board with this one. She knows it's a big deal to me. I may watch in the finished basement because i do have crazy reactions sometimes, LOL. I'm not to be disturbed, if I'm home. Sometime i watch with friends.

My wife realized I'm useless these 3 days and doesn't want to spend hours watching wrestling and having me try to discuss it all with her, so she just sends me and my son on a guys' trip each year. Less than 16 hours to go!!!

I know, but I thought they started them right after session I was over. I must be mistaken.

No. The first round of consolations is tomorrow night. They wrestle two consy rounds (and the pigtails) tomorrow night.

Keep in mind that even though the tournament starts at 12:00 tomorrow, we won't see a lot of the Penn State wrestlers until a good bit later. They first have to wrestle all the pigtail matches (don't get me started on the stupidity of having 33 seeds in a bracket), and then there's a minimum one hour break required for those winners before they have their next match against the no.1 seeds.

Great point. Make sure you are tracking the 7 PSU #1 seeds. Those matches get thrown in at random spots when the pigtail winner has exceeded their minimum rest time.

I'd still say before 1. They'll do the 10 pigtails, then 15 125s (all but lilledahl), then 15 133s. Blaze will go middle of that. With 8 mats, that's ~ the 4th set of matches
