Lowe should be back by the first game thank God. JQ prolly Dec.

Lowe
Aberdeen
Oweh
Mo D
JQ

In order of mins
Jasper (6th man)
BG
Noah
Kam
Jelevic
Moreno
Chandler
Hawthorne
Potter

I see Chandler falling out of the rotation with Lowe. Aberdeen. Oweh. Jasper. Noah all being better. Not to mention Kam getting most all his mins at the 3. That still affects Collin. Idk. Jmo. But somebody tell me who he’s playing over

What I like is SO many weapons of various kinds at every position

This team is going to be hard to guard....the perfect blend of good shooting and athleticism

I’ll be absolutely shocked if Chandler falls out of the rotation. Pope called him the MVP of the Blue/White game even though he struggled from the field. Friday night he was +15 in only 15 minutes, which Mark Pope raved about.

He’s versatile on offense, can defend 1-3, and just makes winning plays.

I basically agree with this although I think there’s a world where BG gets plenty of minutes.

Moreno young, Jelavic new to the States.

When BG has his head on straight, he will find the floor. Should be a pretty quick hook on nights he is off though.

Idk if he’s playing because he’s better than anybody but he will play because Pope wants to use all his guys. Seems like he wants to wear teams down.

Are we really sure that Jaland Lowe is such a difference maker, that he's a lock to get heavy starter's minutes? I've got my doubts. His stats at Pitt don't exactly blow me away. 37% FG %, 27% 3 pt. FG %.....for an 8-12 ACC squad. Contention runs deep on this squad, and Jasper Johnson and Chandler will offer stiff competition.

With that, starting five excited about the defense, very worried about shooting

I’m not sure how the minutes will shake out, but after watching the Purdue game, I definitely don’t think Lowe is as vital to our championship hopes as I did before. Which is awesome. I still think he’s our starting 1, but Aberdeen and JJ can handle PG duties just fine.

He’s very talented. Was 3rd team All-ACC. Low percentages likely due to dealing with a hand injury. Strong free throw shooter and has shot well historically.

All that said, heavy starter minutes on this team will probably look like 20-25.

Good list.. I think everyone feels similarly about it.... i too, think Chandler wont fall that afr in minutes earned. Aike made a great observation that heavy starters minutes will be in the 20 - 25 minute range .. I totally concur.

With the roster as it is, I think they are really going to go after people defensively. It might even have a semi-platoon feel, with 4 man lineup changes at a time, or simply overwhelming other teams with depth and wearing them down with the substitutions.

CMP surely is going to have teams well scouted and be looking to exploit favorable matchups that might affect the minutes of any player in a given game. I like that aspect the best, because we're not losing anything with multiple combinations of lineups on the floor this year. It's only a strength this season !

Go Big Blue !

I don't think there will be a "rotation", at least not a consistent one. I think we may see Pope riding "hot" players, although no one playing >26mpg (last year with injuries & less depth, the max was 28.3mpg). So the order of minutes may be different from Dec to Jan to Feb to Mar.

But I think on the OPs order, I think we might see Moreno & even Chandler slide ahead of Jelevic. Would not be shocked to see Noah slide down (if he's not making 3's>37%). The Purdue game showed what I've stated for months is my concern for this year, 3pt shooting, that we may as a team make more like 33-35% than 37-40%.

Really hard to see Pope playing 12 guys against legit teams..9 maybe. 8 in the tournament.

We're definitely going to be a bit worse from 3 than last season. But probably better at the line.

Those shooting numbers are a little misleading; he played with a broken finger on his shooting hand last year and he hit over 40% on threes the year before and is a nearly 90% free throw shooter who is very fast and can get into the lane almost at will. Lowe will be dynamite in Pope's offense.

I don't see how Noah can be seen as better outright. Noah is a better scorer, maybe rebounder, but Chandler is a better defender/athlete who can disrupt more.

one thing is certain and I said this when many were talking about Perry. Noah is not a guy that’s going to sit on that bench. He’s just too good, his nose for the ball is better than anyone we have. With what he’s done to his body I think Noah by the end of the season is going to turn heads nationally.

Chandler is another that you can see is making that turn quickly.

I see this team and quickly realize why Perry left. There is absolutely no room for him, way too many weapons for him to find a way through. I hate seeing a Kentucky kid like that leave and I think he’ll definitely regret it looking back. Better to have a legacy at UK with a chance to be special here than to start at Ole Miss and be forgotten. But we definitely don’t need Perry.

Hoping BG steps up majorly. He has all the skills it’s just his decision making and aggressive have got to get better. Moreno might be a step ahead of him but that’s just judging off the scrimmages.
He MUST improve his defensive rebounding.

Chandler plays ahead of Noah due to his defense. He might even play ahead of Kam Williams if KW doesn't pick up the defense quickly.
Exactly! Chandlers defense will keep him in the rotation. Kam, other than shooting, makes very little impact on the court. He needs to step it up a bit

If Kam doesn't go full on Koby Brea, he won't be able to get in.

JQ and Moreno might keep Garrison off the floor. Moreno has solid footwork, soft hands, court awareness -- when he gets the ball, he doesn't freak out and throw the ball at the rim like so many of our bigs over the years.
