Man, they all disappeared as soon as bullmarket left. I went to OB and they have a ridiculous prediction thread going on. Illusions of grandeur. Well here's a video for the Austinites and old hippies on this site........Just substitute flowers with longhorn.......HA

They just realize we were right about their third tier half pint loser coach hire. Mediocrity is the new norm. They managed to screw up a coin toss.

Why bother crossing the street to get beat up by the bully? Best to stay home and let their little mommy try to protect them.

As a Horn, still liking the Strong hire. You gotta give him more then a year and get his own players in to even start to make an evaluation. Scary to start two freshmen OLine, but tells you how far the team had fallen. I think there will be a toughness this year we haven't seen in a while. Also think there will be too many mistakes to win more then 8 games, but we will see. I know we could have easily won the OU game last year except for a couple of dumb *** plays so that gives me some hope. We won't be favored, but it's not a slam dunk for OU either.

I empathize to a point.
Aren't the horns starting more natural freshmen this year than ever before?

That's got to be scary.

I think burnt orange is a little wary of what will happen to them in South Bend this weekend. So they are avoiding conversation about the subject all together. And over here ... well we're a little less charitable.

Gosh, I hope you didn't listen to that whole video without throwing up. I made it one minute then turned on some Hank the 3rd to clean my ears...........

Actually K2C, and you have to agree with me on this, when this insipid song came out, it was considered a hot ROCK song in its day...right there with 'How much is that doggy in the window' by Oklahomas own Patty Page.

Yessiry Bob, the horns are scared crapless.
There's a couple of early imbibers talking smack on OB already, but most of them are duly humbled at the prospect of winning in South Bend.

Not gonna happen.

When did that happen, and why?

I'm gonna guess that you disrupted the burnt orange echo chamber by attempting to inject some harsh reality. They don't like it when visitors speak the truth in their hug box.
That happened before last season started. MM's puppet master kept prodding him to ban me, so he finally did. No valid reason, really. They like their rival fans to be deferential and just take what they dish out. That ain't me.

The Horns are starting 6 Freshman against the Irish.

Seven counting the punter. WR, LT, RG, CB, MLB, OLB. Twenty two freshmen and RS freshmen on the two deep. That should keep things interesting.

Work has kept me pretty busy since taking a new roll, but I check on you guys from time to time.

Well damn, I do take my share of schadenfreude with the horns, mainly because it's required of me...but those frosh numbers are daunting.

same here, been super busy at work but I check in from time to time. I was gone from OB so long that when I did post something negative about swoopes and the offense I got jumped on from all the noobs :) The freshman deal is a double edge sword because some of those kids beat out veterans. I am just so tired of having a young team because our skill guys that are veterans cant compete or wont work hard to keep their jobs.

Texas IMO is at the proverbial crossroads this year. Already I've noticed how Aggie like a large portion of their fans have become. If their beloved team has another year where they lose 5-7 games I'm not sure if even their more rational fans could stay level headed.

That's what happens when you kick half the players off the team before playing 1 game..... Mack was a great coach and Strong ran off all his players for job security crying about how empty the cupboard was when he got there. What a joke.

Back where I come from we called that dismal dysfunction.

Eh, they'll emerge from it eventually, whether Chuck will be there when it happens is the burning question.
